We're back at 30°C. The day before yesterday, the temperatures dropped almost 15 degrees, thanks to one of the most spectacular thunderstorms I have ever seen. I'm one of those people who are absolutely in love with thunderstorms - there's nothing better than spending a summer evening sitting outside watching a storm build. And this one had the biggest and brightest flashes I have ever seen. Since I was soaked in sweat anyway, I stood outside in the rain for a while, watching the flashes.
Unfortunately, the heat has already returned, and I read that it is supposed to stay like this at least for the next ten days. The news are full of train ACs no longer able to deal with the heat, a highway breaking apart, and apparently we are on the best way to have the hottest month observed in the past 110 years. _-_
I've been eyeing ice cream makers for the past week, and when I read that it's supposed to stay like this for 10 more days, I couldn't resist any more and ordered one, which arrived this morning. I wonder if you can make ice cream with stevia... I so look forward to experimenting! Yoghurt ice cream, almond ice cream, lime sorbet... mint sorbet with delicious self-grown mint... mango ice cream... I've been fantasizing about ice cream these past few hot days. I have mango and limes, and greek yoghurt and cream and curd in the fridge, just waiting to be turned into all sorts of (hopefully) delicious things tomorrow. :)
Of course, I know that no one really wants to hear about my ice cream indulgences or the heat, but while I've been trying to write whenever the temperature dropped to something more bearable, it's rather slow going. I feel so bad when I look at when I updated last, but I really haven't forgotten about the next chapter. :/
