I did indeed have a wonderful day - after spending yesterday celebrating Ü.'s birthday with far too much food and cake, we did exactly the same again today for me. While the weather is still far too cold and rainy, we nevertheless had a barbecue (apart from the usual meat, I also put some breams? porgies? onto the grill which I had marinated in olive oil and thyme and oregano. Nom nom nom!) and I made the best rhubarb cake ever. Rhubarb might just be my favourite fruit, although of course it is a vegetable really, but nevermind. That cake was so good, and really easy to make. I already know what I'm going to bake for Pentecost again.

The best surprise of the day - and a present which I can fortunately share with all of you - is this story written by [personal profile] spiced_wine, the kindest and most generous person in all of Tolkien fandom:

A Light in the East - a crossover between her Dark Prince and my Anestel universe. This is so amazing; I can't imagine a better gift!

Today I really feel lucky to have met so many wonderful and inspiring people in this fandom. :)
