Obligatory Eurovision post

Thank you so much to whoever gave me more LJ paid time! :)

And also lots of thanks to [personal profile] spiced_wine who nominated Through the Mirror of Fire for the MEFAs! I couldn't resist making this banner for it when I found the picture - Legolas, Maglor and a camel.

Since I couldn't make anyone go to the big Eurovision party in the city with me, I have to watch it on TV, alas. Anyway, I still think that Lena is absolutely awesome. I'm still not sure whom to vote for. I really liked Turkey, the Greek song has, umm, lots of testosterone ;), and the Armenian song is catchy too, even though the subject of the song is kind of strange. It might work better in Armenian...

Only Israel and Denmark left now - I keep my fingers crossed for Lena, even though I'm not sure if she can really do it. And I'm still not sure whom to vote for...

MEFAs

My essay Exile, Wyrd and the Anglo-Saxon Warrior Ideal in The Wanderer and Tolkien's Quenta Silmarillion made 3rd place in the non-fiction category at the MEFAs! Thank you so, so much, pandemonium_213 for nominating it, and to everyone who reviewed it and my other two stories! I must say that I didn't think that more than two or maybe three people would review, so getting all these thoughtful comments was a really wonderful experience!

Another evening spent at my sister's house... it was raining and the paint didn't want to dry, but I managed two doors and and two door frames. Now I really need a hot bath...

Also, I feel really, really honored to have my essay on The Wanderer and the Silmarillion nominated for the MEFAs by [info - livejournal.com]pandemonium_213! Thank you so much! :)
