Written in 2009

I remembered that I did this meme a year ago and looked it up again. Let's see how much I wrote in 2009

LotR Fic

Cuil Eden chapters 63-70 (26 192 words)
10k more than last year. Though not, as I had hoped, finished in 2009. But it will get definitely finished this year, so I can start to write the sequel.

Blood-stained Hands (913 words)
At last we see Thranduil's view of events. Inspiration for this really stroke quite suddenly, but I'm glad that I got to delve into his mind a little as it will probably still take some time until Legolas gets to meet him again.

So Much Less, And So Much More (7943 words)
My AinA fic - something I enjoyed writing, especially as we had such a lovely summer and most of it was written outside.

Under Leaves of Gold (1450 words)
A pinchhit for AinA, also a story I'm happy with. Haldir is always someone I love to revisit.

Courage, Honesty and Strength (1707 words)
Three ficlets written for B2Me09. I've always wanted to write about Glorfindel's youth, and re-reading the Silm finally gave me the hint I was missing as to just with whom Glorfindel explored his sexuality in Aman.

Keeping Legolas Company (2917 words)
A birthday ficlet for [personal profile] spiced_wine... I guess this qualifies as relentless porn, ahem. Which always is a lot of fun to write. ;)

How Legolas Got His Kitty-Ears (2044 words)
This won the "Best Kitty Ears" category at Binky's Mirkwood Slash Awards - and did I ever have fun writing this! Elves with kitty-ears and -tails are just far too much fun to play with! *g*

Yuletide Fics
Like A Sip Of Joie (711 words)
Another little Kushiel fic! There might be no real Kushiel fandom, but it's my plan to write at least one ficlet every year for it during Yuletide Madness. This year, it's a little ficlet dealing with Mavros and an adept of Valerian House.

If on a Yuletide Night, A Reader (1561 words)
Something I never thought I'd do for Yuletide - write fic for Calvino's crazy post-modern meta novel on reading. But as soon as I saw the prompt, I realized just how well this fit to the whole Yuletide experience. I wrote this as a treat in a few hours on the 23rd, and while it isn't the best of the bunch of Calvino fics Yuletide yielded this year, it's something I still enjoyed a lot to write.

Lessons (2788 words)
My 'main' Yuletide story - and I was so glad that I got a prompt for Carol Berg's Transformation series this year. The world really needs more Aleksander/Seyonne, and this really was the best reason ever to indulge myself with something I wanted to write ever since I first read the books.

All in all, that makes 48 226 words - oh, and 14 414 words in the RP with [personal profile] spiced_wine, which makes 62 640 words altogether. That's really not bad, at least for slow-as-a-snail me. What I'd love to do this year is to double my CE/whatever I will call the sequel output. *sigh*

And another meme:
