10:35 pm: FIC: Ghost Hunters RPS
Fandom: Ghost Hunters Category: RPS Pairing: Jason/Grant Rated: PG Summary: A close encounter that never happened Date: 08/24/07 ETA: I made a couple of edits, changing "Dave" to "Brian" because that's who I had in mind, actually. I'm just bad with names.
Ghost Hunters is a docu-soap on the Scifi channel about a group of paranormal investigators. The two main guys, Jason and Grant, work together for Roto-Rooter, and also hunt ghosts together. They spend most of their time debunking ghostly sounds and activity by making plumbing repairs. The group often squabbles and makes up, and the conflicts are as much a part of the show as the investigating.
This story is fiction, and a work of parody. No money being made, and no infringement intended.
If you need a visual aid, Jason is the bald guy, and Grant is the other one :P.

6:33 pm: shake it shake it shake it like a polaroid picture
I've recently started hanging out with an old friend from my early college days. He asked me if those are really NSYNC dvds on my shelf, (he actually said 'those aren't real, are they?' LOL) and I caught myself being startled for a second. I sort of forgot all about those sparkly dancing boys for a while there. Just goes to show you just how incredibly far "real life" can cram your head right up your ass.
Real life, well, it just sucks. I am to the point where the computer just reminds me of all the homework I need to do, and I have no desire to sit in front of it any longer than I have to. This really sucks because the internet used to be my escape and now it is not. But so far so good. I'm staying on track with my timeline, and so far have made A's in everything. I have no real memory of doing any homework the week after my grandmother passed, but apparently I turned everything in.
And Spanish language kindergarten immersion? Very stressful. For parent and child. But my god, is it amazing what a five year old can learn in a short period of time. My son understands Spanish. He can say all his numbers, days of the weeks, shapes, parts of the body, pretty much everything in a normal kindergartner's routine. His teacher speaks only Spanish in class, and they all understand her. It's incredible. But stressful. And don't even get me started on the fascist organization known as the PTA...secret meetings, bullying and a big heaping spoonful of guilt is the order of the day with these people, but apparently this is how most PTA's operate. I don't know why I expected anything else. If nothing else my thirty years on this planet have taught me that most humans are barely socialized, let alone civilized. (If you don't believe me, try having your transmission go out in the middle of an intersection and see for yourself.)
I think I'm going to pop in a Justin DVD and remember why I have all of these dvds of pretty dancing boys on my shelf. Maybe my car will be fixed by tomorrow. One can only hope.

10:36 am: Listen to the wind blow
I went to bed last night positive that my beloved PowerMac was dead and gone.
It is spring here in tornado alley, which means violent storms can erupt at any moment, out of the blue. It was pretty windy last night, but not raining and I didn't hear any thunder, so I was online, answering email and comments...when the power went out. It came back on for a split second, went back off again, then came on and stayed on.
I waited out the storm, then tried to boot up. I got the smiley face! Then my computer made some very sad, sick clicking sounds, restarted and I got the blinking question mark of doom. Because I am smrt, I remembered that the tech support people told me if this ever happened again, to restart from the OS 9 start up disk, not the OS X disc. I tried that. It started up. And told me that it did not recognize my hard drive disc, would I like to reformat it? aaaaaaaack! No I do not!
I shut down and decided to sleep on it. This morning I tried the OS X disc, it asked me if I wanted to install OS X now? I was about ready to cry, but I said yes. It installed a bunch of files, restarted itself...and my big beautiful Justin wallpaper was there. All my files are still there. Nothing was missing. I cannot for the life of me figure out how I could lose my OS, but nothing else.
Stumped. But oh so happy. I have a lot of it backed up to disc, but I haven't backed up anything in probably a month. So I'm a very happy girl this morning.

6:15 pm: ahem...
You mean to tell me people are having private conversations on JF? And not including me? How dare you! And I'm sure you're all AIMing each other when I'm not looking, sending each other text messages, and emailing each other privately ::sobs:: How cruel, how heartbreaking...won't you please think of the fen?
Crybabies piss me off.
Just so everyone knows, I couldn't care less if you lock your journal, unlock it, post it to the JJB, email it to your mother or delete it. Hell, set it on fire, who gives a rat's ass?
ETA: I am aware that someone does give a rat's ass, I did read the wank where this all started. Some people are just nosy parkers.

9:34 am: The sun's as warm as a baked potato
I take back every bad thing I said about this morning. It is absolutely gorgeous outside! I think I'm going to Lowe's to get tomato plants and work on the garden.
8:06 am: grrrrr
I would like to know what that ass ramming pig fucker of a neighbor of mine though he was doing when he decided to wash his car at 6am on a Sunday morning? Right by my window? God dammit. I'd like to wrap that hose around his neck and pull, like Princess Leia did Jabba in ROTJ.
I still haven't seen a single picture that proves that JC has cut his hair. The hysteria over it is amusing, anyway. Maybe I'm just not on the right friends list. I even looked on the JJB (shudder) and I want to know why the hell the JJB has over $800 in their contributor box, and I still can only view three pages a day. How much money does it take to run a message board? $800 seems excessive to me.
And ewwwww, this butter has turned. Gross. ::resists urge to fling rancid butter at neighbor's head::
Can my morning get any more annoying?

10:13 pm: Big fucking bulge
I'm a compulsive crotch watcher. It goes with my love of porny goodness, I'm sure. I've snuck looks at lots of crotches over the years. And I'd bet big piles of money that Trey Parker is concealing a HUGE freaking package. My eye is constantly drawn to his bulging drawers.
And now that I've squicked you all, I will say goodnight.
