Diana was born with a passion for life, a lover's heart and a warrior's soul. She learned how to use a sword around the time she was taught to write. She cannot imagine it being any other way. It is unfathomable to her, to think of a world where she cannot fight for her beliefs, cannot fight for her family, her people, her friends and the world she holds so dear. Such a world would not be one worth living in. Diana kisses Steve with the same lips that have smirked at opponents; touches him with the same hands that have broken her foes' bones; and laughs with him using the voice that has screamed war cries. Diana cannot imagine a world where she does not do that, nor does she ever want to. Earth and Krypton are nothing alike. Their modes of transportation are different, their architecture look nothing alike, their way of dressing, their language, their culture, all of it is different. Kara cannot, will not, say she likes one more than the other. Still, she finds herself resenting Kal sometimes because he loves Earth so much and invites her to share that joy when some days, all she wants to do is curl up and weep for her losses. She browses the science fantasy, the regular fantasy, and the mythological sections in the nearest book stores, trying to find something, anything really, that reminds her of Krypton. But Earth legends and fiction are nothing like what Krypton's were. But she keeps on looking, exploring the different cultures of Earth, trying to find one that will ease the ache inside of her. Do you recall my smile? Do you remember my laugh? Or have all such thoughts of me long since faded? Did your heart ever keep the touch of my memory? Your skin, the red of my blood? Perhaps they did not Perhaps I was truly forgotten by one and all But I like to think some memory of me Echoes in your heart In your bones In your blood And perhaps the wind still recalls my laugh The earth, the touch of my feet But I do not know-I do not exist It's not so much that Sakura falls out of love with Sasuke as it is that the nature of that love changes along with Sakura. She loved Sasuke when she was young and weak. She loves Sasuke when she is just a little old and a whole lot stronger but she loves Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, her master, her village, her friends and fellow shinobi and her family too. She is more aware of all the different kinds of love and her heart, which has always been big enough and has always loved, is more open to those she holds dear. Sasuke is no longer her world but she loves him still and is determined to save him. She doesn't want to save him to fulfill a childish dream of love; Sakura wants to save him because she wants her family to be whole again. Sakura is strong. Sakura is proud. She doesn't need anyone to rescue her; this time, she'll do that herself. |
