| 7:44 pm | Paternal Sentiments A/N: I love "A Song for Arbonne". It ties up so neatly, which is something I love, without being contrived. It almost made me cry twice towards the end, which very few books do. Anyway, it's a brilliant book, and some day I will get around to reading the rest of Guy Gavriel Kay's stuff. Rereading this recently surprised me, because I'd forgotten it entirely. To toot my own horn, it's good. A relevant summary of the book: It's an alternate medieval France, with a circulating 'Court of Love'. Lots of troubadours. And married gay men in the nobility. | 11:20 pm | Implications, DCU, Bart/Tim Implications A/N: There is a webcomic - Boymeetsboy. Lots of gay, bi and straight boys. I found it before I found Teen Titans, and hence Bart reminds me of a character in BMB, Skids, rather than the other way around. This fic was inspired by a storyline in the comic, called ‘The Wonky Dream Sequence’, though in fact the dream Bart has here is dreamt by Cya, Skids best friend. I don’t describe the dream, so if you want to find out what I was thinking for it, go read the comic. Even if you couldn’t care less, I still suggest you do ^_^ http://boymeetsboy.keenspot.com This was 'interesting' to write. Almost 20,000 words of Bart's PoV in the present tense? Exhausting. And it's long, and it's probably the best thing I'll write in this fandom, and it's been in the works for several months, and I don't want to let it go now. It might not be perfect. It was beta-read by an author I really admire, and I'm perfectly happy with it, and I've finally come up with an ending I like that actually rounds it off, and I don't want to let it go now. But I am. It might not be perfect, but at this point in time, I can't do much better. Betathanks: girl_starfish, who was magnificent. And who writes the most amazingly funny and adorable fics.Summary: Bart has sexuality angst. And general teenaged angst. Rating: PG13 Warnings: slash, language, This Is The Fic That Never Dies (i.e. it’s long. Very long) NB: This is meant to be a oneshot, despite it's length. There are meant to be no breaks at all. unfortunately, Livejournal has a limit on postlengths, so I've split it into three parts. It might have worked as two, but there are some places with a more natural pause. Still, I'd be really grateful if people read it as I intended it to be read, straight through.
