| Bio: | I am a fan, fanfic reader and writer, mainly slash. I read in a variety of fandoms, but write in the Harry Potter universe. I will be uploading all of my fanfic here over the course of the next few weeks (August '07). Some of these fics involve things that some people find squicky or triggery, so please read the warnings before clicking through to a story. Writer's Statement When I write, I'm hard-hearted. I take characters, ones that came from my own mind or from others' minds, and I play 'what if' games with them and their environment. I do this without regard for their feelings or pain - because they don't have any of their own, only the ones I give them. What if all the mammals on earth except humans were wiped out as a result of genetic modification? What if this character sees Muggles as less than human? What if that character believes his children are his possessions? What are the different conclusions those 'what if's could be taken to, and can I write them and write them well? I feel no remorse or regret about doing this. Fictional characters are not people, but ideas to be played with. And people, of whatever age, gender, heritage, ability, orientation or faith, are not fictional characters. People are real. What I am willing to do to ideas that I push around on paper says nothing about what I am willing to say or do, or even to contemplate saying or doing, to or with real people. All fiction is fantasy, and everything I post here should be understood in that light. It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: I find non-consensual sexual activity, and particularly sexual activity between adults and children, or adults and young people, or older children and younger children, or where one party has the ability to overtly or subtly coerce the other party, to be utterly vile and abhorrent. That these things sometimes occur in the 'what if' games, the fiction, the fantasies, that I write and share with others is under no circumstances to be taken as endorsing or supporting that behaviour in real life in any way whatsoever. Oh yeah, and I claim no rights whatsoever over the characters, worlds or anything else in the universes I write in: like I said, I'm just playing games.
