| | working | ] | However, I probably should not eat them every day. But they're so tasty and half-price all month. ;_;
Hooray for 15-hour days. I suppose it's kind of disingenuous to complain when one job involves a lot of sitting on my ass and the other is being a slightly-above-minimum wage monkey, but this is still time I could have spent doing laundry or going to the store or shaving the cat.
Every quarter there's at least one or two temps that I really really dislike (because they're annoying, lazy, and/or dumb). This time around it's the dim hippie chick with the dreads who is not only extremely stupid but for some reason seems to think she's pretty smart. (She also wears midriff-baring shirts and really shouldn't.) She was talking to a Chinese customer and in all seriousness said that he should get As in Chinese. I really wanted to ask her if she's always gotten As in English (mostly because I'm pretty sure I know the answer to that one). Between that and her claim that "everyone back home [in Seattle] is so intellectual," I want to tell her to shut up every time she talks.
My other enemy is your stereotypical hipster with square-frame glasses, skinny jeans, and ironic t-shirts. He said The Kinks were 'lame,' and I had to resist the urge to beat him over the head with his Vans. That's totally a reasonable reaction, right?
What's amusing me, however, is having the exact same conversation every time I log onto my Windows profile at work:
Random Employee: Who's the guy on your desktop? Me: That's Graham Coxon. He used to be the guitarist for Blur. Random Employee: Oh, is he dead now? Me: No! He's just not in Blur anymore.
I'm going to be very glad when rush is over and the store quiets back down and all the dumb temps go away. |
