your fact for the day
Today is the 50th anniversary of the peace sign.

I didn't know that it originally stood for nuclear disarmament.

Additionally, does fandom really think that LJ relies on their content to bring in new users? Because it seems to me like the majority of people on LJ use it as a journal and social networking site, not to read/post fanfic and meta. And really, if you want to "show" LJ/SUP that your content is important in terms of bringing in users, wouldn't it be more effective to, I don't know, remove all of your content instead of just not posting for a day? Oops, there I go using earth logic again.

And the wank is already starting in the comments about how it really started.

Journal entries and social networking ARE content, so it works for me.
