Smiling to himself as he thinks about how things are developing between he and Jesse, Gray knows exactly who he needs to call to talk about it--no small part having to do with the fact Drew would gut him if he found out he'd been keeping such a thing from him. Grabbing a bag of chips and his soda, Gray sprawls on the couch, all long legs, and dials his friend's number.

Lounging outside, Drew unfurls himself on the chair and takes in the sun and as soon as he's comfortable he hears his phone ringing from inside the house. With an exasperated sigh he heaves himself up to stand, grumbling as he crushes out his cigarette. Drew can't explain why he's compelled to answer this call. Usually he'll let it ring especially since he's outside and relaxing. He gives his head a shake and picks up the phone, voice low and a bit irritated, he huffs out a curt hello.

"Well hello to you too," Gray responds. "Interrupting something, am I?" he inquires, eyebrow raised at the curt tone from his friend. "Who pissed in your cornflakes?"

Drew can't help the smile on his face as soon as he hears Gray's voice. "I was outside being all emo and shit and you suddenly interrupted my moment," he laughs. "Seriously, just got back from a show and I'm trying to get back in the swing of things." Smiling, he settles on the sofa, propping his feet on the table and settles in. "And how are you, love?"

"Being all emo?" Gray repeats. "I think you should be shot, not just interrupted..." his tone is teasing as he settles in, munching on his chips. "And I'm good...better than good actually..."

Noting the subtle difference in the way Gray's tone of voice changes, Drew can't help but smirk because he knows exactly why that is. He shifts on the sofa, laying over it at length, pillowing his head on the arms and presses the phone closer, this conversation may last a while. "You fucker! You met someone! Fucking spill already!" Drew says excitedly.

"I already have, sorta..." Gray evades for a few more moments. "Remember the guy I told you about? That I was having some fun with?"

Silent, Drew thinks on that for a moment before remembering the conversation they had back in London. "Ah. The hot, rich, bored guy. That the one?"

"That one," Gray says, smiling to himself, the action coming out in his words. "Well, he's not quite so bored anymore." Fidgeting for a moment, he laughs. "I'm in love, Drew!"

"You're in love? Are you ill? Seriously?" He can't believe it. "I don't believe it. Matthew Gray Gubler - in love! Gimme details, bitch!" Drew laughs, shaking his head, still in utter disbelief.

"Well you know, stranger things have happened! Not much stranger, but stranger," Gray counters, shaking his head. "And ...it was completely unexpected, on both our parts, but it's true." He sighs happily. "He's going to come visit me while I'm in Turkey. We'll both go to Ankara one weekend for a few days..."

Even as he pushes the thoughts of Kevin away and wanting badly to flash warning signs over Gray's head, Drew doesn't. His best friend doesn't need this wonderful time tainted by Drew's bad experience. "The unexpected ones are the best ones, love. I'm happy for you." And he truly is. "Good thing he can fly out to see you. I feel better about that trip now. Means I won't lose you in one of them holes you're digging." Drew laughs, lightening his own sudden melancholy mood.

"Oh please, that's you that would get lost in a hole!" Gray teases back. "I'm not quite that scatter brained..." He pauses. "Everything okay, Drew?"

"I'm perfect, baby. But I do miss you. So tell me about this boy of yours." Drew switches topics, he has to, Gray would beat the shit out of him if he finds out that he's thinking of Ziggy again. "Come on, you know I want to know all the sordid details," he laughs, pressing the phone closer to his ear.

"I miss you too," Gray responds, not sure if he's being deflected--but pretty sure he is--and he's willing to let Drew get away with it this time. "His name is Jesse and he's like...loaded. You should see his place, a staff like keeps it up and stocked with food and it's both very cool and immensely sad at the same thing. It's almost...clinically clean and put together."

"God, he sounds like old money if he's that loaded. Is he also loaded in all sorts of sexy ways as well, hmm?" He teases. "I hope he's keeping you in line." Drew continues to rag on him but then he sobers up. "Seriously now, love... How and when did you realize that you're in love with him. Tell me?"

"I don't know...it just sort of happened. I just realized it one day, made me a little nervous--him too apparently, but we were both feeling the same way, so..." Gray blushes despite himself. "And yeah I think they are old money. His parents are those 'things should be a certain' way kind, appearance is most important, etc."

"Yeah it's can be a bit -daunting- once realization hits." He smiles, really happy for Gray and deep inside hoping that he won't get his heart broken. "Met the parents already? Is there something you're not telling me?" Drew laughs, because teasing Gray about this is rare - very - and Drew is milking this for all it's worth. Okay, fine, he's not that bad of a friend and he sobers up, speaking quietly, "You know you have to introduce him to me, right? As soon as you can because frankly, I'm intrigued about the person who's captured my best friend's heart." Deep affection lace his words and Drew sighs, getting emotional. "My smartypants is growing up!" He mock-sobs on the phone and then starts to giggle because, hell, it's still fun to tease Gray.

"No, I haven't met his parents, and I'm sure they will not approve of me, I'm just going by what he's said--and my observations of surroundings, and what not." Smiling, he shakes his head--knowing he would have to endure much more teasing. "And of course you'll get to meet him. Once I get back from the dig, we're going on a trip, just the two of us...maybe we'll fly out to LA if I have time, if not...you'll just have to come back to London."

"I'll go anywhere, just let me know. I think I need to get to know this Jesse of yours and spill every embarrassing thing about you... Okay granted there's too many, I'll just pick the best ones." Drew laughs, relentless in the teasing and completely forgetting his earlier brooding. "Gray, joking aside, you sound happy, man," he smiles affectionately, "...and that makes me happy too."

"I am happy...it's unexpected, and I'm not used to it...you know? Being concerned about someone else and what they think so closely. Especially with the dig coming up, but...it's not unwelcome..." Gray sighs, knowing how gone he sounds.

"Man, you got it bad!" Drew shakes his head and looks up to the heavens praying to all the gods and goddesses and deities alike to make sure Gray does not get hurt in this relationship. Drew may be just a teeny bit melodramatic about that but he's never ever heard Gray like this before and he needs all the help he can get. "Just... just be careful, love. I don't want to see you hurt," he whispers the words. "You know what I mean, right?"

"I know what you mean," Gray says quietly, smiling softly to himself at Drew's concern. "I'll be as careful as I can in a situation like this. I promise."

"Good. Yeah, that's good." With a sigh, he settles in the couch, more relaxed as he moves the phone to his other ear. "Okay, now tell me more about your Jesse." Drew smiles.
