so i was explaining to small-steps that although i have been writing steadily despite having no time, my muse insists on providing me inspiration for everything that is not my official nano plot.
"but, tw," says he, "is it not all the same story arc?"
"true indeed, my friend," admits i. "all i have written involves backstory, sidestory, and the fulfilling of the prophecies eventually to be laid down in this novel. the war of the gods was my plot, and my plot it remains. i find no blownuts that further the unraveling of said plot, however. i am stucketh."
"silly girl," chides he. "if it's all the same universe, it all counts. no one said your novel had to be serial."
"small-steps," proclaimed i, "a genius are you."
so, under this new, broader definition of my nanowrimo novel, i will be updating my word count to include all the side crap my muse has been feeding me when he should have been working on godly things. thanks to small-steps' kindly interpretation, i have a tiny shot of reaching 50,000 by the end of the month. w00t.
