: Happy New Year

It's been a quiet night in, curled up together on the couch watching the New Year unfold. Henry has reassured Jared that he prefers it to going out, always has, though he's not ever sat and watched TV for the event. He hadn't expected that part to be as enjoyable as it has, but it's turned into the focal point of a conversation about music, artists, the fans and Hollywood. Henry's having a great time.
"You know, I'm glad to be here tonight, with you like this," Henry says as the final count down starts up.
Jared lights up. He his head is in Henry's lap, he reaches up to touch his face. "Me too, it's good to talk about real stuff, the things that really matter." He usually spends New Year on his own, usually having partied hard for his birthday. He enjoys retrsospecting although this year, he feels like like he's done enough of it for one year. Being here, with Hal, with his prince, is the best end to the year.

Jared's improved, but his file still has labels like avoidant, generalized anxiety and psychogenic pruritus.
I discussed this with our counselor and I know this will create other issues, but I've collared Jared. Handing over control has helped him to relax, and as his dom, I was able to talk the clinic into releasing him. I brought him home a couple of days ago.
Jared says he'd like to see you. Nothing in our contract nulls his relationship with you, but I do insist on meeting with you before you see him. If he's okay, I can leave the room while you visit. Give me call so we can talk details.

Jared is more balanced but I won't say completely steady. He requested to be transferred to Embrace in Malibu. At least this is a clinic recommended by the club so there's no risk of a leak. Definitely more understanding with some of the dynamics and predilections we favor. And the staff here is less uptight.
I try to visit daily and I've told him I'm in contact with you. I'm letting him read this before I send it. Henry

Henry stares at the blank email. It’s not often that words won’t come; if nothing else, he lets the brutal honesty have its say, tapping it out over the keyboard. But... he doesn’t know how to put voice to pirates and tear stained stubble and not make Jared out to be a lunatic. Jared isn’t crazy. So that’s what Henry starts with.
Alex, I've been to see Jared a few times. I can tell you he isn’t crazy but he’s broken in ways that this facility isn’t going to address...

Henry scowls at Heidi, a fierce enough look that she should be able to feel her hair singe. But Heidi is immune to Henry's moods and glares and growls and only crosses her arms over her chest and glares right back. Henry isn't immune to the heat in that look but he chooses to ignore it.
So Heidi rolls her eyes at him, "Seriously. There's nothing you can do for Jared right now. It's Thanksgiving and everyone is doing Thanksgiving stuff until Monday so give it a rest and go find someone to do your own Thanksgiving stuff with while I go back and do Thanksgiving stuff with my family. You know, I bet Elias has leftovers he would feed you..."
"Oh fuck me no," Henry actually gags.
Heidi grins brightly, "Well now, I'll remember that if I ever want to torture you. And right now, you're ruining my holiday which makes me really think I'd like to torture you..."
Henry snorts and pushes back from her desk. "Fine. Going. Thanksgiving shit. Get your ass out of here and we'll try again Monday."
