6:04pm: Num num gimme some
I just made the most yummy and easy supper ever. As this certainly doesn't happen often, I decided to share. ;D

Ground Beef Dinner )

SO GOOD OMG.

8:40pm: Razor
Battlestar Galactica: Razor )

Also? I'm imagining what Supernatural (which gets about the same ratings as BSG, I think) would look like if we had BSG's budget, and trying not to be ill with jealousy. *g*

Not at all related, but less than 24 hours after rejoining Freecycle groups in my area, I'm remembering why I left. The multiple offers of puppies, kittens and young lab-mix dogs is downright depressing and, really, people, wtf is up with posting that you're looking for a 27-inch PLUS TV set? And laptops? And working treadmills? And complete sets of furniture? Greedy asshats. *leaves groups again*

8:12pm: I just finished season 3 Battlestar Galactica.

*SHRIEKS*

*downloads season 4 like the frackin' wind*
6:21am: Drop. Your. Sword. [*clang!*]
Also, did anyone else look at these SPOILER pictures for this week's Supernatural and wonder why sfuniverse was posting caps from "The Princess Bride"?

6:12am: You say it's your birthday!
Happy, happy birthday, [info]zillah975! You're one of the best hearts I've known, and I'm so glad we're friends. *loves forever and ever* I hope your day is full of wincake and awesomesauce, sweetie. ♥ ♥ ♥

3:32pm: *flail*
Eyecon is trying to get Jensen and JDM for Eyecon 2 in September! They already have Jared signed. :D

I'm picturing them all three on-stage at the same time. O_O

Oh Em Gee Dubya Tea Eff Elle Oh Elle

I brought the idea up to Ron casually earlier, and he did not immediately declare it the worst idea he's ever heard. However, work schedules may make it impossible. ARGH.

Less-interesting stuff. )

7:25pm: I give up.
Scene: home. Watching the news. There's a report on women finding they don't get hired when they mention they have kids during a job interview. Reporter tells us that mothers, particularly single mothers, are thought to be unreliable because they may need to be out of work to take care of a sick child.

Ron (looking at me, confused): I dunno...nobody ever asked me if I have children in a job interview.

Me: *blink* THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT A WOMAN, DEAR.

Ron: *blink* Ohhh... [beat] ...You mean people ask you that?

Me: Yes. Yes, they do.

Ron: Ohhh...

8:48pm: The Day Fanfic Turned Jared and Jensen Gay and Totally Ruined Their Lives Forever
Um. I wrote badfic? It's [info]keepaofthecheez's fault.

J2 badfic, inspired by recent wank. Rated, um...R? )

7:57pm: Nice mention of Operation: Winchester
Sorry about the spamage, but I couldn't /not/ post this!

Op:Win and Fandom Rocks got a really nice mention in The Supernatural Online Fandom: Take Two:

For something truly inspirational, there are two big charity sites. Operation: Winchester is dedicated to sending Supernatural Season one DVDs to the troops overseas via care packages. Word is the show is very popular among the soldiers, and fans are doing their part to show support by delivering them a part of the same joy we get at home. This campaign is ongoing, and details about how to donate can be found on the site. Fandom Rocks recently raised money in the name of Supernatural for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and the Lawrence Humane Society in Lawrence Kansas (which is the hometown of Sam and Dean Winchester). In their latest campaign, they managed to raise $2350 for both charities. The site has a nice profile of each visit to those places and the challenges these facilities face. They also indicate to stay tuned, for another campaign is in the works, but they are always accepting donations online.

Yet again Supernatural fans, you've amazed me, and I’m sure there are still way more that I’m missing. It’s incredible what love and inspiration from one show can do to motivate people in different ways. Once everyone is done with the diversion of the four remaining episodes of the season over the next month, it’ll be time to share that pent up energy online all summer. I’ll be there lurking, taking notes, and having a great time.

Whoot! Also, I really need to update the site.

8:02pm: Collin is SINGING IN THE SHOWER. OMG it is the cutest thing any child has ever done in the history of ever.

What's he singing? "Jingle Bells"! *falls over*

AND NOW HE'S APPLAUDING HIMSELF AND GOING "YAAAAY!"

edit:NOW HE'S SINGING "THE ABC SONG". I AM CLOSE TO DEATH FROM THE CUTE.

edit two:NOW IT'S "TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE STAR" OMG THE WORLD CANNOT WITHSTAND THIS LEVEL OF CUTE. WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!2!
10:25am: OKAY!
Is Battlestar Galactica fandom actually wankier than Supernatural fandom, or did I just happen to start paying attention at an unusually wanky time?

Seriously, I saw two wanky posts yesterday (both of which were bahleeted), and now there's wank over a poll for favorite ships. Because apparently dozens of journals have been created for the express purpose of voting for Lee/Kara? And people...are actually going through and checking when journals were created. And the creator of the poll is now refusing to continue the poll because THE FUN HAS BEEN SPOILED. A flounce cannot be far behind. I haven't been involved with a fandom with shipping wars since X-Files; I'd almost forgotten about all that kinda stuff.

Relatedly, I'm up to episode six of season 3, still loving the show and anxious to get caught up so I can watch season four eps with the rest of fandom hopefully without wank. I did sneak and watch about five minutes of last night's ep because I am WEAK and have NO WILLPOWER.

I'm also kind of disenchanted with SPN fandom at the moment for several reasons, none of which is worth going into at length. I keep reminding myself that during hiatus, fandom will find ways to entertain itself, even if that means biting off its own metaphorical nose to spite its metaphorical face. This, too, shall pass, but it's annoying as hell while it's going on.

7:18pm: Speak to me of cellphones, my flist.

I'm due a free or extremely discounted new phone as part of Verizon's biannual "ZOMG DUN LEAVE US" promotion. I went in and looked at stuff, but...nothing really bowled me over. I was sorta tempted by the EnV, but I'm not sure I text enough to make it necessary. Anyone have that? Can you tell me anything about it?

How about any of these?

4:02pm: How to buy the Jason Manns/Jensen Ackles song
I’ve already heard about the online pirating (an hour after I sold it, i have to admit is impressive!) I understand people want to hear it, and I’m not really a stickler for copyright stuff, but i will say i took on all the expenses for the recording studio, (my bro isn’t the only owner so i still have to rent it for the day), and printing, and licensing, and some other stuff as well, so those of you who can afford the 10 bucks, i would appreciate it. if you really can’t afford it... dowload away! ;) I will be bringing it on my UK tour, and to asylum, but for those of you who just can’t wait, or couldn’t make it to the Convention, I’ve made it available on my myspace page. there is a paypal button on the left side of the page.

from Jason Manns' myspace.

If you've downloaded the song, please go buy a copy. It's expensive, but I really hope everyone will buy it anyway to help make sure the guy doesn't end up in the red for something that's basically a gift to Supernatural fandom. There's a direct link to the Paypal page here, or go to Jason Manns' Myspace page and scroll down to the general info box and click on the Paypal button there.

Thanks! :D

9:45am: Jason Manns recorded "Crazy Love" with Jensen. Like, officially 'n stuff!
Someone please upload this song kthxbai. I swear I'll buy the DVD when it's available, but I NEED.

p.s. I toldya the song Jason Manns alluded to would be one recorded with Jensen. :D

p.p.s. I own replies to comments and emails (I'm sorry, Flip!) and tags (sorry Juwel and Rachel!); will get to them ASAP, but zomg so much to do this weekend. *flails and runs in circles*

*&hearts and runs away*

7:04pm: As if I needed another reason to watch "Dollhouse".
This just keeps getting better -- Tahmoh Penikett (Helo on Battlestar Galactica) has been cast as
an FBI agent trying to disprove the urban legend of the Dollhouse, and a romantic foil for Eliza Dushku's character. *rubs hands gleefully*

Also, this is a spoiler, but one that I don't think anyone's going to be able to avoid hearing about: SPOILER for Prison Break season 4 )

In conclusion, Thursdays without Supernatural should not be allowed. :(

5:43pm: PSP is not my friend
Hey, all you graphics-talented people out there! I have tried and failed to do this myself, so now I'm begging for someone to do it for me -- I'm wanting to design some new t-shirts for the OpWin Cafepress site. I've got the front pocket graphic covered, but what I'd like to do is have some of the more fun quotes from the show on the back. Just a simple, clean design that's the right size for the back of a t-shirt, and possibly the same thing in a color that'll work on black t-shirts.

So, would anyone be able to hook me up? I'd be glad to give you a free t-shirt as a thank you once they're all finished. :D

Quotes I'm thinking of offhand (though I'd also appreciate suggestions for more):

"I hope your apple pie was freakin' worth it!"
"Driver picks the music; shotgun shuts his cakehole."
"Saving people, hunting things -- the family business."
"I lost my shoe." :(
"Hell is like...well, it's like Hell."
"I'm shocked at this unforseen turn of events."
"I have...an evil twin."
"I...shot the sheriff." "But you didn't shoot the deputy!"
"Demons I get; people are just crazy."
"He full-on ObiWan'd me."

5:40pm: BSG "Bastille Day"
Bwahaha why did no one tell me that (is it a spoiler if it aired four years ago?) )

14th March 2008

5:50pm: I've now seen the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and omg I LOVE IT. And amazingly, there seem to be no skeevy race and gender issues so far. There's an awesomely diverse cast and the women, though they are beautiful, are not just there for the t&a factor. They have purposes! And not just the purpose of window dressing! And the president of the colonies is an over-40 woman with OMG A BRAIN. Anyway, I'm starting in on season 1, but I doubt I have time to make it through all three (?) seasons before the new season starts next month. THANK YOU to those who pimped it to me. :D

I'm watching SGA, too -- hooray for Sci-Fi airing season one during the week! I considered buying season one today -- even had it in my hand -- but talked myself out of it for the time being. I'm really liking this show, too! Also thank you to the people who pimped it to me!

Still working on Torchwood and a couple of the other shows, too. :)

12th March 2008

9:52pm: Countdown to LJ wankocolypse in three...two...one...

10th March 2008

9:38am: Pimp me your fandom!
So, the earliest appointment I could get with my doctor is 2:30. There's nothing on tv, and none of my dvds is looking particularly attractive atm. I can't sleep because I can't breathe, and I'm looking for something to take my mind off that fact for awhile. So, what should I check out? G'head, pimp me your favorite fandom (aside from SPN, Jericho, Buffy/Angel/Firefly, X-Files and ST, naturally, since I'm good in those departments *g*). I prefer TV at this point, I think, since I can easily DL an ep or two, and if it's not working for me I can always look for something else.

My all-knowing flist, what should I watch? Tell me in 100 words or less (or, hell, more, if you're in the mood). Show me pictures that illustrate what's awesome about your show. I'm open to pretty much anything. What'll it be? SGA? Torchwood? Moonlight? Battlestar Galactica? Blood Ties? Something else?

3:29pm: Anyone here from Oklahoma?
Okahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (R) launches an anti-gay tirade. Little does she know, she's being recorded.

What a revolting excuse for a human being. She can be reached at sallykern@okhouse.gov.
9:12am: Migrainey?
Those of you who get migraines, do you get the weird vision things, too? I think I have a migraine coming on, and there's this spot in my vision, all glimmery and blurry. It's the same in both eyes, so it must be a brain thing. I can barely see enough to read! *grumbly omg* It's the first time I've had a migraine in a couple of years, so I guess I'm due. It doesn't hurt -- I never have more than mild headache with it. I just can't much see. *squints and blinks in a futile fashion*

7th March 2008

9:25pm: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
So, I'm insisting Hannah goes to bed at a decent hour because she has Girl Scouts tomorrow (four-hour meeting omg). And she's complaining, and every single one of her friends gets to stay up late and it's all SOOOOO NOT FAIR! And I tell her we only have rules because we care about her. And she says...

"It DRIVES ME CRAZY how much you CARE ABOUT ME!!!one!!1!"

*cracks up* :D
Current Mood: "Home"

27th February 2008

6:00pm: Wow, tired.
Tired. Like, 'how-can-it-be-only-Wednesday' tired. Like, 'I-think-I-may-cry-oops-I'm-crying' tired.

My sweet boss took me aside today and told me very gently that I needed to stop coming in early and leaving late and not taking full lunch breaks every day. "We don't want you to get burned out," he said. It occurs to me that he may have a point.

On a much cheerier subject, [info]zillah975, I made your chili for the board meeting today, and people loved it -- they freakin' RAVED about it! I've seriously never had so many compliments as I got on this lunch. Everyone had at least seconds, and seriously -- RAVING. It was a perfect day for chili, too -- freezy cold and blustery, and several people said it was the first time they'd been warm all day. Thank you for the awesome recipe, hon! ♥

I fell asleep during Jericho last night. *grumps* I have /got/ to go buy an external memory storage thingy. I don't have enough room on my laptop to DL anything, and I've deleted everything I can possibly live without.

I found an amazing fare to Orlando the weekend of Eyecon -- less than $250 round trip! I'm seriously thinking about it. As much as I wanna come crash at [info]keepaofthecheez's house and drive down with her and her fangirl posse, I'll be so much less tired if I'm not driving 600 miles each way. Need to think about it some more.
