Henry and Tommy - getting to know each other

[players only; October 14]

It had taken a bit of organising to avoid the paps. Henry had an Est staff member come an hour early to get his motorbike and an extra helmet, then another one to drive him to the club to meet Tommy. It all seems a bit much to him but his manager and publicist both insist it's necessary. Now they're filming there's more and more interest in what he's doing though and there's no way he can come out in public. Even so, he'd wanted to see Tommy again. And the whys and wherefores of that he's not going to think about. A passing fascination is what he's telling himself. When they reach the club he takes the steps two at a time, looking around when he gets into the foyer.

Tommy's sitting in one of the club chairs in the foyer, texting Adam and checking his e-mail. He'd been surprised when Henry had e-mailed him, surprised and kind of pleased. The couple of scenes they'd done had gone really well, so he had been hoping they might get to scene again. This, though, is different. This is going for a ride somewhere with no indication of when or even if there'll be sex. It almost sounds like a date, but Tommy's not letting himself think that way. Instead, he's sitting in his leathers trying to keep himself distracted talking boots with Adam while he waits for Henry.

Henry spots the mop of blonde hair and heads over, a smile on his face. "Hey," he says, flopping down next to Tommy. He's figuring on a nice ride on the bike, a snack that the est staff will put in the carry packs, and then, well maybe back to his place. Their helmets should give them enough privacy.

"Hey," Tommy answers, smiling. "Thanks for the invitation, man. Nothing better than getting out on a bike."

"Thanks for coming," Henry replies. "Do you ride much? I don't fully know my way around LA yet, but I heard the drive along the coast is great. You'll forgive me if I get us hopelessly lost?"

Tommy laughs. "Hopelessly lost is the way all the best adventures start, dude. As well as many decent horror flicks. That's comfortable territory for me! And, yeah, I ride some. Not as much as I'd like, though, but I think that's probably what everyone would say."

"I'm all up for adventure, without the horror thanks," Henry chuckles. "Yeah, I keep saying that while I'm over here I'm just going to take a week and go for a ride with nowhere in particular in mind, just following the road. But man," he shakes his head. "try and find a whole week to do that is impossible. At least for the moment." The staff member arrives with the keys to the bike and their helmets. He thanks him and hands one to Tommy. "There's mics in the helmets so we can talk."

Tommy nods as he takes his, inspecting the inside to see where the mic is. "Your career is going well now, I hear. I keep seeing pictures of you as Superman popping up on the net. Makes down time hard but hopefully you love it." He realises he doesn't really know anything about Henry and is making assumptions based on how happy he himself is when he's playing music. "Um, I mean, you wouldn't do it if you didn't, would you?"

"Oh yeah, of course I love it. Who wouldn't like playing Superman, right?" He grins as he stands and waits for Tommy to follow him out to the carpark. "It's a good break for me into the American market, but if my contract is anything to go by the filming's the easy bit. The publicity grind, that's going to be intense." He glances at Tommy, his eyes full of mischief. "So are you for or against underwear on the outside?" It seems to be a huge debate on the net since the first pictures of his costume appeared.

"Against. Definitely against," Tommy answers, feeling his face flush as he does. He's not only seen the pictures of Henry in his costume, he's got one of them as his desktop background at the moment. Not something he's actually going to admit, but that costume does make very clear the contours of the body under it and Tommy's been enjoying the memory of the feel of it as well.

Tommy doesn't strike Henry as the blushing type and the fact that he does now is intriguing to say the least. "So you've been thinking about it then?" he teases, grin widening.

Tommy shakes his head and flashes a quick grin, trying desperately to redeem himself. "A little. You know, the red undies on the outside were never a convincing superhero look. I want my heroes to know how to dress themselves before they go off fighting crime. So without solves that problem. And," he pauses as he tries to figure out how to word this, "the suit kind of, well, has some eye appeal the way it is now."

"Just so you know it's not all suit," Henry smirks, grinning as they head out. "The bike's over there," he says, pointing to his Harley.

"God, that Harley’s just so fuckin’ cool!" Tommy exclaims when he sees it. He moves over to the bike, circling it, hand caressing the chrome. "And I know it's not all suit. I've seen the real thing, remember?" he smirks.

"Good point," Henry chuckles as he watches Tommy. "You like? The bike I mean. I know about the other."

"I like," Tommy nods. "It's beautiful."

Henry smiles. The bike is his pride and joy and he spends many an afternoon making sure the chrome is gleaming. "What kind of bike do you have?"

"A Yamaha." He shrugs. Tommy knows it's not the greatest bike around, but it was the right price and suits him. "I'd kill for a Harley, though."

"That that mean I should be on my guard?" Henry jokes, laughing as he gets on the bike. "We should bring them both out sometime. Yamaha's are good bikes."

"It is, yeah. A little workhorse. Works well for me." He climbs onto the bike behind Henry, settling himself up against the other man. "You should always be on your guard," he continues, adding, "How're the ribs doing?"

"Fine. Now. Ready for round three," Henry laughs. He silently congratulates himself for this idea, liking the way Tommy has to press up close behind him. "All ready?"

Another round sounds promising. Especially if Henry's still expecting a fight. Tommy's had problems in the past with people who've thought taking him down once would make him compliant from then on. Just because someone's fought him down once or twice doesn't mean he's ready to surrender for all time. He wraps his arms around Henry's waist. "Yeah. Let's hit it."

Helmets on and Henry's starting the bike, pulling out of the carpark. He reaches up, giving Tommy's arm a squeeze before they drive out onto the road. "Can you hear me in this thing?" he asks, testing the mic's working right.

"Loud and clear," Tommy affirms. He can, too. It's as if Henry were speaking to him face to face with no helmets or wind in the way. He settles in to enjoy the ride, head peeking over Henry's shoulder to see, balance shifting easily with the other man as the bike takes the turns. It's the best part of riding, the sheer physicality of it all. So much better than a car.

An hour and a half later and Henry decides it's time for a break. The banter between them during the ride has been entertaining and he'd been pleasantly surprised to find Tommy has a great sense of humour, if a little dark at times. Now it's mid-afternoon though and he's getting a little hungry. He finds a quiet spot, well back from the road where they can stretch out and not be seen by people driving past and turns off the engine. "Ready for some food?" he asks, taking off his helmet and ruffling his flattened hair.

"More than," Tommy laughs, removing his own helmet. There's not much he can do about his hair - he'd forgone the usual styling knowing it would be useless - but he runs a hand through it anyway. Getting off the bike he puts the helmet on the seat and takes a moment to stretch out the kinks. The one problem with riding is that you can't really shift around or stretch your legs much.

Henry hands Tommy a rug to shake out and spread on the ground while he grabs the food supplied by the club. "Let's see what we got here... there's sandwiches, some cold chicken, salad, cookies.. looks like we're all set." He grins and puts the hamper down. "Juice or a beer?”

Tommy takes the rug, finding a reasonably flat spot out of direct sunlight to spread it out. "I'll have a beer, thanks," he says, placing a couple of rocks on the corners of the blankets before going
to help Henry with the food. "Looks like they packed quite the feast," he comments, looking at the neatly wrapped packages of food. "Man, I love the Est. Experts at everything!"

"I know, right?" Henry grins, grabbing them both a beer. "The cost of membership is pretty steep but they do everything. I don't know why I didn't join before.' He pops the beers open and hands Tommy his before sitting down then stretching out on his side on the rug. "Even getting the bike to the club to meet you. It's been such a pain trying to out wit the paps before now."

"Oh yeah. you're getting pap attention now, right? I never really have to deal with them unless I'm with Adam, thank God." Tommy takes his beer, has a drink, then sets it down before stripping off his jacket and stretching back on the rug, hands behind his head, watching the sky. "I figure that at least half the fancy Hollywood parties are secretly catered by the Est, and that a whole lot of the guests would be shocked to the eyeballs if they found out what their wait staff would happily do for them. Mind you," he adds with a laugh, "looking at the membership list I'd say at least half of the invitees know perfectly well and are just waiting for the rest to go home so the real fun can start."

"Yeah, true," Henry nods. "How long have you been a member?" He watches Tommy, the pose stretching his body out, his t-shirt lifting to expose a tiny patch of skin, and he's wondering if he's being deliberately tempting. Because it's working. He is tempted to reach over and run a hand down Tommy's body where his t-shirt is clinging. Instead he takes another sip of his beer and decides to be a gentleman.

Tommy's not being deliberately provocative; the ground feels good under his back and he's comfortable like this. He's not unaware, though, of Henry's body beside him, big and solid. "Not quite a year," he answers. "Been doing kink for a long time, but just found out about the club from a friend a few months ago. You?"

"Just joined," Henry replies. "At my manager's insistence. She seems to think I might get myself into trouble otherwise," he grins. "But I've been into kink for years, since I was a teenager. And it's funny how there's all these people in the industry I've fucked and held back with and now I find they're into the same things." He laughs and shakes his head, thinking of Jon.

"Yeah?" Tommy asks. "You reading through the membership lists and planning on meeting up with people again? Have a re-do with a little more bondage?" Tommy's experiences have been outside the Hollywood elite, and so far he hasn't seen anyone at the club who looks familiar, besides Adam, of course. And he's known about Adam's proclivities towards kink since about a week into their working relationship. He wonders what it would be like to find out this way
that a past lover had more to offer than you had realised at the time.

"Well, there's one I've already seen on the boards and we're going to catch up. I'm looking forward to it," Henry replies with a wicked grin.

"Really? That's awesome, man!" Tommy laughs. "I guess the only drawback would be if you discovered your kinks don't match up. But if you've already done the deed, at least there's always vanilla."

"Yeah, and to be honest, I wasn't hugely surprised to find him a member of a sex club," Henry laughs. "How about you? Do you play much at the club?"

Tommy shakes his head. "You've seen what I do," he replies, turning his head to look at Henry. "When my skin starts to itch I go find someone who wants a fight. Other than that I don't really hang out there. I spend more time on the boards. Don't have to do my hair for that."

Henry laughs. "True, but then I remember your hair being a little mussed up by the time we finished," he grins. "I kinda liked that look on you." Forgetting about where they are, he reaches over, fingertip tracing the outline of the tiny bit of tattoo visible on Tommy's belly.

Tommy's stomach muscles contract at the touch, but he doesn't move away. "Since you're the one that put it there, that's good to know," he says, eyes tracking Henry's finger.

"Ticklish?" Henry asks, smiling although his voice is soft and low as his finger moves over the patch of skin.

"A little," Tommy admits. "Shit. Okay, you are not allowed to use that next time you try and take me down!" He adds, rolling his eyes at himself.

"Do you think I would do such a thing?" Henry struggles to keep a straight face. He does tuck the information in the back of his mind though.

"I'm pretty sure of it," Tommy laughs. "Just like I'd take advantage of any information I had. All's fair..." he finishes, sitting up and not entirely incidentally moving a little away from Henry's hand. He reaches for the package of sandwiches, trying to cover his sudden nervousness.

Henry lets his hand fall away, reluctantly stopping himself from reaching for him again. "Sorry, I did promise you food, didn't I?" he smiles, thinking there'll be plenty enough time later on for him to touch, if all goes according to plan.

"You did," Tommy agrees. He opens the package and inspects the contents, pulling out a roast beef sandwich and offering it to Henry. "There's this, and," he looks in the pack again, "some ham, I think. Maybe turkey. What do you want?"

"If we're talking about sandwiches I'll take the beef thanks," Henry replies. He has a bite, watching Tommy as he chews, wondering if he's done something wrong with the way Tommy is suddenly intensely interested in the food.

"Ha! Sandwiches, yes," Tommy grins at him, taking a bite from the ham. He feels a little sheepish about pulling away from Henry, doesn't really know why he did it. Just that the moment was becoming more intimate than he was ready for. This is better, though, sitting and eating together. "So, bikes and kink. What else do you like?"

"Hmm, this is where I show my geeky side," Henry grins. "I'm a history buff, and especially Egyptology. So if you wanna talk about hieroglyphics, I'm your man. I even thought about becoming an academic at one point." He smiles. "If Superman is a huge disaster I still could I suppose. Professor Cavill," he laughs. "I guess in place of your horror inspired tattoos I'd have ankhs and scarabs under my tweed jacket."

Tommy manages, just barely, to not spit out his first thought about this being an excellent role play scenario. He does have a brief flash of wonder that the two men he's met recently who interest him are both into dead languages. He's sure that must mean something but he's
damned if he can figure out what. "Egypt is kind of cool - all those mummies and worshipping cats."

Henry grins. "Yeah and men with jackal heads," he nods, thinking that kind of thing would appeal to Tommy. "So where does the interest in horrors come from?"

"One too many picture of Egyptian men with jackal heads?" Tommy asks, laughing. "I don't know," he shrugs. "I saw a couple when I was a kid, nine or so, and I was completely hooked. That whole dark side of life, delving into the parts of the psyche we like to keep hidden, fascinates me. There is such capacity for violence, for evil, in humans. It seems like a good idea to keep it in mind."

"It is a typically human trait," Henry nods. "I can see that in terms of the thriller or slasher type movies, but vampires and demons and such?"

"Oh, well, they're just fun." Tommy raises his hands in the air like claws and goes, "Rawwrrr!" at Henry. "See? How is that not just entertaining as all hell?"

Henry can't help but laugh, even as he pretends to fend Tommy off and half rolls away from him. "Yeah, it is when you do it."

Tommy grins, lowering his hands. "Every now and then you get a horror movie so bad it's just like me doing it. I live for those moments. Have you ever seen Plan 9 From Outer Space? May be the worst movie ever made. So much fun!"

"No, I tend to stay away from horror movies, good or bad," Henry chuckles, shaking his head.

"Really? Why?" Tommy asks, honestly surprised.

Henry gives a hopefully casual shrug. "Just, you know, not my thing," he says, reaching for his beer and taking a swig.

"Oh. Well, okay." Tommy shrugs, eating some more of his sandwich. "What kind of movies do you like? I mean, apart from classic American superhero?" he adds with a wink.

Relieved at having got away with that, Henry smiles. "Usual blokey stuff. You know, car chases, psychological thrillers, not cut them up thrillers, dramas." He glances at Tommy, corners of his mouth twitching. "Porn."

"Porn is always a popular choice," Tommy smiles. "Especially the homemade kind."

Henry's eyes light up. "Oh yes? Talking from experience I take it?" And suddenly he has a desire to go and buy some camera equipment.

"There might have been a camera or two in my past," Tommy acknowledges. "Of course, you have to get me nice and malleable first." He flashes a grin.

"Your choice of horror movie to watch first?" Henry suggests with a grin.

"That might work. But I'm promising nothing!" Tommy's enjoying the easy banter, the way Henry pushes but not really, the way there's an undercurrent of awareness, of what has gone before and what might come after. He finishes his sandwich, putting the paper back in the bag before licking mustard from his fingers.

"No, I wouldn ---" The words trail off as Henry watches Tommy's tongue moving over his fingers. Tease "What were you saying about people's capacity for evil?" he laughs. Then he reaches over, grabbing Tommy's wrist and pulling his hand away so he can lean in and kiss him.

Tommy's confused for a moment by the comment about evil until Henry moves in for the kiss. He pulls, just a little, against the hold on his wrist, reminding both of them that Henry shouldn't take anything for granted. He doesn't turn away from the kiss, though, enjoying the way Henry's mouth feels on his.

Smiling when Tommy doesn't pull away completely, Henry deepens the kiss a little. His tongue delves into his mouth, tasting beer and food and Tommy, making a soft sound of pleasure at the back of his throat before pulling back and releasing him.

When Henry pulls stops the kiss Tommy sits for a moment, tongue tracing along his lips, tasting Henry there. "That was..." he begins then stops. "How was I being evil? Or were you talking about
yourself?"

"Nice?" Henry suggests. "And you were teasing me with your tongue. That's evil. Don't try and deny it," he grins.

"Nice, yeah," Tommy smiles shyly. "I wasn't teasing. I was... oh," he finishes as he realises what he'd been doing. "Okay. Well, it wasn't intentional teasing. I don't tease, really. You get me down you can have me, however you want."

"Is that an invitation?" Henry grins. "Because I was going to ask you what your plans were tonight."

Tommy eyes Henry, thinking. He likes Henry, yes, and the two times they've been together have been terrific. Does he want to make it a third? Third time sounds almost serious, like there's something here between them, and he's not convinced that sort of thing is meant for him. Henry is sexy as fuck though. Coming to a decision Tommy gives a decisive nod. "That's an invitation, and I don't have any plans."

Henry gives Tommy a wide, easy smile. "I figured we could grab some dinner at the club, book a room? I'll take you home on the bike in the morning."

"Sounds like you've got it all planned," Tommy smiles. He likes that, likes that Henry was thinking ahead, likes the idea of being taken care of. Inwardly, he shakes his head at himself. He never expected to be the kind of guy who liked having someone look after him.

"Well, I..." Henry considers the casual, cool approach for a moment. He could say that those were his plans anyway, and Tommy could join him, or he'd get a random hook up at the bar. But really he'd been hoping Tommy would agree. And if not he probably would've just gone home alone. "Yeah," he finally says, smiling.

Tommy drops his eyes, smile softening. He likes this. More than he thought he would. Likes, also, the honesty of the man before him, the way he's clear he's here for Tommy, not just any casual fuck. Another decision reached and he leans over Henry and kisses him softly.

The kiss surprises Henry. It's definitely not unwelcome, but Tommy often seems so... standoffish. He returns the kiss, smiling, one hand trailing down Tommy's arm. "I vote for staying here and making out for a while before heading back," he murmurs. It's not likely anyone's going to come across them this far back from the road.

"I..." Tommy thinks about this. A kiss or two, he's fine with those. A whole make out session... well, he's going to need some ground rules. "As long as you understand... I'm not, you know, giving in or anything. You want me down, you want me in subspace or doing whatever you want? I don't just give you that."

"I'm not going to assume anything else," Henry replies, wondering in the back of his mind why it's so important to Tommy. "But that's in scene, right? We're not in a scene now, and I promise that when we are I will completely and utterly overpower you," he smiles. Then a thought comes to him that makes the smile fade. "Of course, unless that's all you want? Just someone to scene with," he says, starting to feel a little foolish.

Tommy shakes his head, eyes dropping. "No, I'm sorry. I don't... that's not all I want, no." He shrugs one shoulder. "I sometimes... I don't know. Most guys, they get turned on by taking me down. I kind of..." he trails off. He really doesn't know how to express the way he's always felt about himself and his role in sex, the way every man except Adam, and now Henry, has wanted him to be.

"Kind of what?" Henry wants to tell Tommy he enjoyed their last two encounters too, but he wants Tommy to finish his thought as well. "Do you think that's the only thing I, or most guys, are looking for from you? A fight?"

Tommy shrugs. "Yeah."

Henry's heart goes out to Tommy. "I can tell you that's definitely not all I want. And don't ask me why," he says with a self-conscious laugh. "All I know is that there are a dozen different things I want from you and a fight is just a small part of that. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed our other times together, but there is more to kink than physical overpowerment. What about what you're really looking for? Is that what you need all the time?"

This whole conversation is making Tommy really uncomfortable but he 's back to the fact that he likes Henry, and he thinks Henry likes him, so he thinks carefully before he answers. "I like it, yeah," he says slowly. "All the time? No. But I have Adam, you know? When he's not with Shemar at least. There's no roles when we're together. We're just friends."

Henry considers that for a moment, thinking it must be hard when you're getting half of your needs met by a fuck buddy, and one who's in a committed relationship with someone else. But he's still not sure where where that leaves them. "I have a suggestion," he finally says, smiling and reaching over to touch Tommy's arm again. "Let's go back to the club, have a proper meal and see how you feel afterwards. If you need to fight me, okay. If not, we can wing it. Just know that I'm not expecting anything either way, okay?"

Relief washes through Tommy. He hasn't scared Henry away, he doesn't think, and he also doesn't have to go on having this conversation. That's good. Really good. For now, anyway. He smiles and touches Henry's hand. "I'd like that, yeah." He stops and then starts again. "I know I'm difficult, Henry. I do. I don't really know why but, well, yeah. Dinner would be awesome."

[feedback welcome; comments screened]
