I have the ick. Spent the last two days at home, sleeping in; at work today, but my boss hides like a little girly-man whenever i come near, lest i give the ick to him. (This is generally a good thing, as it means he's not bothering me nearly as much.)
Got a ticket recently for $151, for parking on the "grass" next to the house, (which is clearly paved with asphalt, as a parking area) and without any "no parking" signs on the block, i've got photos to take to court for when i plead Not Guilty. Went over today to do so; but without the judge present, i cannot plead without paying a $50 collateral minimum; in order to plead not guilty without paying anything up-front, i need the judge available (they expect you to pay the fine in advance, when you plead; then when they resolve the case, the township will return your money if the judge finds in your favor). Also, the lady showed me a second ticket for the exact same thing ("grass", next to house, $151), for the jeep, that they haven't even mailed to me yet. So i get to call them every day until the judge is available, at which point i get to present my evidence.

Thanks to some reasons that i would rather not get into right now, i won't be at Anime Next at all this weekend. Guess i'll have to see everyone at Otakon, those of you that are going.

Job interview this afternoon, 3:45pm. I'd be doing electrical work.
Edit: fail. Guy wanted to start me at entry-level, for significantly less money than i make now.
I said no.

| Tophat Texas |
[11 Jun 2007|10:26am] |
Even the people going the other way on the interstate were giving me looks. Although the truckers were all really nice, as every single one would pull to the right so i could pass them.
It's monday, and my boss isn't in, so it's time for a picture post. (But for some goddamn reason, the LJ gallery isn't working. I guess i'll use petri instead.)
( wanderlust, but mostly texas )

Okay i just spent 3 days stuck in west fucking texas, on two of my requested days off. Every restaurant in town had a drive-through, no place even halfway decent to sit and have an actual steak. Only place open for 24 hours was the super-wallmart right off the interstate.
I get no bonus for putting my life on hold for that time. They do not pay me OT for travel, or even for the 6 hours i spent sitting in the airport.
And they'll probably even bitch about how much of their money i spent feeding myself, or how much the rental car cost.

| hold-message fuckery |
[24 May 2007|01:48pm] |
On hold with Hologic, need to price out a new AEC chamber for an xray machine.
*music playing* *interrupt for recording one, female voice* "All lines are still busy; please press 1 to continue to hold, or press 2 to leave a message." *presses no buttons, hold music returns* *30 seconds later, interrupt for recording two, male voice* "All customer support representatives are currently busy assisting other customers. If you wish to leave a message, please press 1 now. If you wish to speak to the next representative, please press 2, and your call will be answered in the order it was received. Your call is important to us; press 1 to leave a message, press 2 to speak to the next available customer support specialist."
Pressing 2 gives me a phone that rings eternally, with no one to answer it. *not* pressing any buttons yields the same result. I'd press 1, but i don't just want to leave a message.
Edit: well, apparently the guy that answers for tech support is on vacation. Guess i'll call AID instead.

Long Island again, work, monday tuesday. Getting tired of this game.
Updating my resume, and surfing craigslist job listings. Is it worth putting my resume on monster.com?
