CCAT Calendar
I finally, years after adopting Mac OS X, got around to investigating iCal - the standard calendar software for the system. Following up on this led me to iCalShare where I found, among other things, nifty pagan/moon-cycle calendars. I also typed in humboldt in the Search box and got one hit: The CCAT Calendar. You can subscribe to CCAT's calendar and automatically get the latest events (and last-minute changes) delivered to you. Pretty darn swank.

If you're wondering what CCAT aka the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology is about, here's a handy FAQ.

Note that you don't need iCal or a Mac to download a static calendar and with opensource software like Mozilla Sunbird you can subscribe to dynamic iCal calendars even if using Linux or Windoze.

I hope more local organizations — Democracy Unlimited? the County library? — will start keeping subscribable calendars.
