| 8:59 pm | Well... What a week it's been. Richard III has been found. The Gay Marriage Bill has been passed, it's not quite law, there are a few more hurdles to get over but I look forward to the day when men and women are free to marry the person they love regardless of gender. I must admit to being extraordinarily happy today. |

| 10:29 pm | Goodness me... I have spent the last few days at the Olympics watching our splendid sportsmen and women winning gold medals galore. I don't think I've ever been as proud and have been weeping and cheering in equal measure. It is so refreshing to see the media concentrating on the endeavours of these brave athletes rather than who is sleeping with who and etc. If anyone is looking for me, I can be found at the Olympic Stadium in the Olympic Park in Stratford, London... |

| 10:19 pm | Somewhere in the midst of the crowds... Ian sees the camera panning the crowd. Shoulders back he puts his arms in the air and sings along at the top of his voice. No matter than the song is about three octaves too high for him, no one can hear him in an audience this size. In the van, the techies work at great speed to get the footage out. Someone pauses. "Isn't that Ian McKellen on the barrier ... for Beyonce?" |

He sees the electronic missive from Daniel and resolves to send him a pair of sheer hold ups when he gets a moment to call his own. For now he regards his reflection, as Ian recedes and Gandalf the Grey reappears. He smiles. It's good to be home. |
