Super power: Psychic/mediumship: Can see, hear, and/or speak to the dead. This rather depends on what he's seeing/sensing (place memory, sentient spirits, or just an imprint) and how strong/aware the event or spirit is. He can see what's known as auras as well, however typicals only appear purple to him, which usually helps him seperate living from non-living. However, since moving to Chicago, he's discovered that he can notice some atypicals as atypical because their auras have some sort of colour to them. Status: Neutral, though he finds himself attempting to do what he feels the right thing to do is, even if the right thing is nothing. When in doubt, he usually follows Daniel's opinion. History: Mads was born in Copenhagen in 1965, and raised in Osterbro (East Bridge). He was very socially and politically aware at a young age, and it was also while he was young that he became aware of his ability to speak to the dead, though it has always seemed fairly natural to him to do so. When Mads was nine, he began to participate in elite gymnastics, which he continued until age 20. He then became a dancer, working in that career from 1982 until he left that profession in 1992. In 1992, he encountered what he has come to call ‘Bad Ass Motherfucker Who Wants to Eat Your Soul’. It was a single entity of this group whom had been tracking him for some time. He says these creatures seem like what some people call ‘Shadow People’. They are dark, shadowy, vaguely humanoid shaped entity with red eyes. The resulting encounter caused him to suffer from a sudden, catastrophic psychotic break. He was admitted to the St. Hans Psychiatric Center, where he suffered through the battle with the entity for approximately two weeks before he was recovered enough to satisfy the doctors that he could be released. The battle left him with the scars on his arms (from cutting himself while in the grip of the entity) and a cooler than normal body temprature. And while he can't see it, himself, anyone else who might be able to see his aura will notice the black holes and the way it's kept tight to his body. While he managed to survive this encounter, the damage was done to his professional and personal life. In an attempt to recover from this set back, he agreed to allow his children to be in the permanent custody of their mother. Mads attempted to return to dancing for a few months after his hospitalization, but suffered repeat attacks by the same entity for almost two months. During these attacks, he was often returned to the hospital, though he rarely stayed for longer than 72 hours. He then temporarily moved to Sweden, where he attended the Aarhus Film Academy. He graduated from the school in 1996, and participated in two small movies during this time. Finding it difficult to continue, he bounced between Sweden and Denmark until deciding to try an entirely new setting, hence the move to Chicago. Shortly after his move, he encountered an unfortunate plot of land that has many spirits bound to it through their suffering, and the resulting large amount of energy broke his sheilds and he ended up being taken to Stoger County hospital, where he found himself under the care of Dr. Daniel Craig. Daniel was the first atypical Mads had met, and he found himself devloping a deep trust in the other man, as well as sexual intrest. They became friends, and eventually lovers, with Mads bringing Daniel deep into his own personal mental sheilds, which has yeilded some surprising results as well as strengthing the relationship significantly. Mads has, with Daniel's encouragement, started working again and has also taught a semester at the University of Chicago. Personality: Mads is fairly laid back and level headed, and is generally a simple and all around nice guy.
