Notes: This was actually written on October 12, 2004, and conceived like two months before that, but I was slow to get it up here. Oops. Big spoilers, anyway.







Later, the pain will dull, though never fade completely.

Later Hector will rest a hand on his shoulder, and Lyndis will look at him, eyes filled with sympathy--

--Nils, though, Nils will look at him only with anger and resentment--

--and they will lay her to rest. Later, he will dry his eyes and they will continue, continue to fight for their homes, for their loved ones--

--for her--

--for the world--

Later she will return, and he will see her smile again.

But for now he will hold her. And for now he will cry.
