Lilith wants Sam dead, and Dean for herself. Dean is the first-born, immune to the demon virus, able to fit into the most unsavory atmospheres with ease, extremely lucky - blessed even, erotically gifted (succubus?), and is Legend in the underworld. Who better to have as an ally and mate? Her perfect Lilitu!
As the succubus is generally identified as a woman, that might explain why people mistake Dean for Sam's lover - he's just too damn pretty! *snortlaughgiggle*
p.s.: God castrated Samael - which would explain Sam's Dick of Death, and why Lilith would prefer Dean's virility over Sam's deadly swimmers...
I still feel that in many ways, Dean is the re-born Lucifer - you know, Light-Bringer? Prometheus? Thoth?
Funny how wisdom and knowledge are considered "evil" by those wanting power over the masses....
