|Jeff & viggo: Breakfast turns serious
Viggo wakes slowly, drifting up out of sleep like drifting up through water, the light beginning to filter through his closed eyelids, the sound of Jeff's quiet breathing next to him, the warmth of his body. He rolls over and slides his arm across Jeff's chest, nuzzling the back of his neck.
It's something they don't get to do often enough, not with their schedules. There's so much they don't get to do often enough, and Viggo has started wondering if he should put his film career on hold indefinitely, and focus on...well, on other things. He doesn't want what's happened with Tom to happen with Jeff, the two of them drifting into synchronous orbits, happy for each other's happiness but so rarely the immediate cause of it. He and Tom are a banked fire, and while he could wake it, he doesn't know if he should. Not with Davey in the picture now, and Jeff.
But it isn't something he'd meant to happen, it isn't something he'd hoped for. ( And it isn't what he wants with Jeff. )

|Dropping anchor in Reykjavik [Jeff and Viggo take a little time for themselves. Takes place during the filming of
A Dangerous Method.]
"Is it safe to just stay anchored indefinitely?" Jeff asks, turning his face from the wind and wiping off his cheek. The rain has been constant since he arrived; it literally hasn't let up once. Temperatures have been in the high 50's and low 60's Fahrenheit; not icy, but not bikini weather, either. He's grateful that Viggo truly knows how to sail, otherwise he would have capsized this boat long ago,
and they'd both be sodden frigid bundles drifting in the North Atlantic. The famed 20-hour days have held true, at least, and they're spectacular. But the incessant rain has Jeff just wanting to pull his lover back below decks where it's warm, once again.

|Overdue IM session with viggo
[10:54] JDM: Finally, I've got you. Thought we'd never line up.
[19:55] Vig: Hi you! Thank David's obsessive nature. Waiting on the sidelines for him to sort out the next shot.
[19:55] Vig: Miss you. How are things there?( The beard makes me look too respectable. )

|Jeff visits Jensen & Jared in Vancouver
Jensen had stayed home to finish getting everything ready while Jared went to fetch Jeff from the airport -- also, because squeezing all three of them into the cab of the truck after Jeff's flight from L.A. seemed like kind of a poor welcome. He's just put the pizza in the oven when he hears the rumble of their arrival, and he grabs his beer and heads outside.
And damn if seeing Jeff after all this time doesn't bring a smile to his face. "Hey, you," he grins as Jeff unfolds himself from the truck.
"Hey." Jeff's smile is just as wide as he wraps Jensen in a bear-hug. "You're looking good."( ''You seriously can't picture it?'' )

|Potent words and sweet spots: Jeff visits viggo in Spain
Viggo wakes slowly in the late afternoon, opens his eyes to see golden light streaming in through the blinds. It gleams on the tile floor and falls across the foot of the bed, and he turns his head to see that the fire in the fireplace has died down to embers, and he lies still for a while, watching the red glow and listening to Jeff's steady, even breathing beside him. Three days into their visit, and Viggo's been warmed by how well Jeff has gotten on with Tom and Milla. It's been wonderful to watch the four of them getting to know each other, and Viggo's starting to believe this may all work out much more easily than he had been braced for.
He rolls over and nuzzles the back of Jeff's neck, whispers his name. ( ''Where do I fit in for you?'' )

|Jeff & viggo get up to mischief in the barn
[recent; follows this
They grab an early dinner, and afterwards they walk down towards the paddock and the stables again. "When the weather's good I leave them in the paddock overnight," Viggo says, gesturing towards it with one hand and reaching for Jeff's with the other. The silhouettes of the horses are black against the deepening dusk of the sky. "I like to come down here before bed, just make sure everyone's okay, where they should be."
"I didn't know it could be so mild here, this time of year," Jeff murmurs, looking up and seeking the first stars of the evening. "Should be able to see both Jupiter and Venus this time of year," he twists around and points with his free hand, "and maybe Mars. Not sure about that one."( Something new is vibrating under Viggo's skin -- not new for Viggo, but new for Viggo with Jeff, new for the two of them together, and he doesn't know if Jeff will be willing. )[Feedback always welcome; all comments screened]

|Meeting c_hemsworth on the Red Dawn set
[current; filming for new Red Dawn
They're not into full-blown fighting yet, but they're making the shift from background scenes into the guts of the film, invasion and fighting back, and Chris is caught up in some hand-to-hand fight scenes. Of course, he's trying to do as much of his own stunt work as possible, channeling excess energy into pummeling the guy playing a Chinese soldier.
Just behind the row of cameras and lights, Jeff watches the action, approving of Chris's form. It's probably a sign of age, or even - gasp - maturity, but Jeff finds that over the past several years he's settled quite comfortably into the 'father figure' authority role. On Supernatural, of course, it was a big joke-- he acted just as a much a fool as Jared and Jensen did, and the three of them together on set were hazardous. Here on Red Dawn, where he's still adjusting to the new milieu, he still finds himself looking over the young cast with a sort of fond beneficence.
Mostly, anyway. He's seen Chris's name on the Establishment boards quite a bit recently, so he's pretty damn sure the young man isn't nearly as innocent as his fresh looks suggest.

|Thanks for est_mlou
[sent in response to Mary Louise's birthday gifts
Thank you for the stunning array of gifts. Your taste proved impeccable, as always.
Should I think of you the next time I sink my teeth into something hot and juicy?
I hope you're well, and I look forward to sharing the Talisker with you the next time our paths cross.

|Jeff gets closer to viggo on set
"Good take," the A.D. calls out, and Jeff has to nod in agreement. Standing well back from the bank of monitors, he's far enough away that he's not underfoot but still close enough that he's got a good view of things. And he definitely wants a good view. Viggo's in full Appaloosa
regalia, working steadily through the afternoon as they try to catch the best of the natural light, and all the leather is turning Jeff on way too much. ( ''I just wanted to grab you and force you to feel something.'' )[Feedback always welcome; comments screened]

|Jeff gets drunk-dialed by jens
[took place December 26th]
"Look," Mackenzie is saying, and Dad just sighs and rolls his eyes. "No, I mean it. Why would God care? Does God care if you masturbate?"
"Mackenzie!" Mom's tone is shocked, but Jensen knows better. It's the standard holiday Mackenzie-vs-the-parentals argument, and they all know their roles and play them beautifully. This year's argument -- because God loves a good irony -- is about the gays.
"What does that have to do with homosexuality?" Dad asks.
"Because," Mackenzie says, and Jensen can hear her jaw clenching from here, "if God doesn't care whether you get off with yourself, why would he care whether you get off with someone who shares your plumbing? As long as you care--"
"It's right there in Leviticus--"( ''If you were working with someone, I mean, someone you knew for a long time, someone who was a friend, and they'd dated girls and everything, and then you found out-- I mean, you found out they were gay. Would that change how you felt about them?'' )[Feedback always welcome; all comments screened]

|A chance encounter with viggo
Viggo's restless. He's only in LA for a few days, and his schedule has been so hectic he hasn't had time to see Milla or Tom either one as much as he'd like. Not that it's been that long since he saw them last, but the visit hadn't lent itself to playing the way Viggo's starting to feel a need. So he heads for the club - not to hook up, but just to spend an hour or two immersed in the particular atmosphere of the Establishment. If he'd wanted to hook up, wouldn't he have at least tried to dress the part? Something tight and black and shiny, or made mostly of leather straps, he thinks as he looks around at the costumes sported by some of the more assertive patrons.
No, Viggo's dressed like he always dresses, in paper-thin jeans with holes worn at the knees and a tee-shirt so threadbare it's probably held together by the paint stains, his feet shoved into battered Justin Ropers. The only nod to what he's beginning to itch for is the chain bracelet on his left wrist and the braided leather choker he's added, an afterthought, to his usual collection of necklaces.
''Last seat in the house,'' a voice rumbles to his left, and Viggo turns to meet a pair of smirking blue eyes. ''Unless you feel like participating.''

Vignette: Christmas Eve
Another Christmas spent in solitude.
Jeff isn't lonely. Jeff doesn't get lonely. He's a man who relishes solitude, savors time that is totally his own -- no need to answer the clamoring wants of others, no need to pretend he's anything less than completely self-absorbed. He makes 'alone' look damn good.
But tonight, kicked back in the luxury penthouse suite of The Alexis Hotel, looking down at the colorful Seattle night skyline with a crappy cheap cigar in one hand and a cut-crystal glass of exceptional scotch in the other....
Tonight he feels the weight of all that alone pressing down on him.
