Matthew Gray Gubler [info]gray and Jesse Spencer [info]jessespencer talk about dinner with Drew and Kevin
20 February 2007, will be backdated and crossposted

The ride back to their hotel and the time in the elevator had been rather quiet and tense. Gray isn't angry with Jesse, not at all, but he's not quite ready to trust himself to speak yet either. He's still pissed off and he'd actually like nothing better than to get his hands around a certain model/actor's throat at the moment.

The tension radiating off Gray hasn't changed a whit since they sat down for lunch and Jesse's just a bit worried that his lover might explode from holding it all in. He keeps his peace, though, hand tightly twined with Gray's and his thumb stroking softly over the knuckles.

Finally though, they are safely in their room, though Gray still doesn't really say anything yet as he moves over to the mini bar and snatches up the first little bottle he sees and opens it, draining it in one go.

Watching Gray down a shot of vodka is disconcerting, at best. Jesse grimaces and moves to the phone, ordering up coffee and some light snacks. Even though they were at lunch, neither of them ate much. Maybe now, Gray will be able to get something down. "Gray...talk to me love, please."

"How can he want to be with that...that...asshole!" Gray finally exclaims, rounding on Jesse, jaw tight. "After what he did and how he still acts! He's a self-centered, arrogant, manipulative little..." the young man reaches for another little bottle.

Jesse's hand comes over Gray's, stopping it's progression to his mouth. Tilting his head up, Jesse presses a soft kiss to his lips. "He loves him, Gray. It was written all over Drew. And, while you may not like Kevin, while he may be all of the things you say...your best friend loves him." He just hopes that Gray can hear him, can listen to the undercurrents of the conversation. The last thing he wants is to argue with his lover, but it might be inevitable.

Gray opens his mouth to argue, then growls softly and huffs, giving the bottle over to Jesse and stalking over to the window. "God I know! That's what's so fucking bad...I know he loves him, and he's loved him since the little bastard left him. You should have seen Drew then, god knows I did...I just don't want the same thing to happen. And I meant every fucking word, if it does I will hunt Kevin down and strangle him myself!"

"And, I'll help." Putting the bottle down, Jesse sighs in relief that Gray relinquished the alcohol that easily. He moves across the room and wraps his arms around Gray's chest and rests his chin on his lover's shoulder. "You can't pick who you love. You just do and sometimes, people need a second chance. But, Drew and Kevin both know that you'll be watching to make sure it stays a good thing." And Jesse is thrilled that you can't choose who you love because otherwise he might not have Gray.

"Little assholes like that are why I left modeling," Gray grumbles, leaning back against Jesse. "I never liked him you know, and he never cared for me much either. I never said a whole lot--Drew's my best friend and I know telling him what a bad idea this is would be stupid too. It doesn't mean I have to like it though..."

"No, it doesn't." And whether you tell him or not, he can read you like an open book. Kissing Gray's cheek, Jesse pulled Gray in tighter and nuzzled at his ear. "It does mean that you have to let him do his thing...while keeping a close eye on him." One arm drops down to curl around his lover's waist, while the one around his chest strokes slowly and gently.

"I have been," Gray points out with a grumble, slowly starting to relax under Jesse's touch.

"You have and you will." Nibbling at Gray's ear, Jesse does his best to distract his lover.

And he's doing an admirable job. Turning in Jesse's arms, Gray presses against him. "Am I being unreasonable?"

"Not unreasonable, but definitely emotional. Which is okay, too. You love Drew and you don't want him hurt, don't want to see him go through Hell again." Jesse drops a hand to Gray's lower back and snuggles him close. "I think you need to see how it plays out, give Kevin a chance to show he's changed and Drew the chance to enjoy that change."

"Oh Kevin hasn't changed; even if he doesn't leave this time, he hasn't changed--he's still a manipulative little bitch..." Gray states.

Jesse sighs and tilts Gray's lips up to his for a hot, thorough kiss before pulling back to murmur against his lips. "Even if he is, Drew loves him and wants him." Leaning in again, Jesse cups the back of Gray's head to hold him in place for a very long, drawn out, drugging kiss.

Gray is finding it very hard to concentrate on anything other than his lover and the touches. "You're trying to distract me," he murmurs.

"Is it working?" A low chuckle rumbles across Gray's lips before Jesse moves his head to trail his lips across a cheekbone and over to nibble on his earlobe while his hands caress over his lover's back. Nuzzling at Gray's ear, he moves on, bringing his lips back to press soft kisses over Gray's eyes, a quick one drops on his nose and then he's taking Gray's mouth with his own again.

"Maybe..." Gray relaxes beneath the touches though, eyes falling closed and just enjoying them.

Chuckling softly, Jesse goes about seducing Gray as best he can with slow, tender touches and kisses. The relaxation of his lover's shoulders is the best thing he's felt in a long time.

"I'm glad you're here," Gray says at length in between kisses, touching Jesse's face.

"I'm glad to be here with you, for you." He tilts his head into Gray's touch with a smile and a gentle stroke of his hand down the curve of his lover's spine.

After a moment Gray giggles softly. "I was a little worried after that lunch you'd be ready to run for the hills...though I don't suggest it, there are coyotes..."

"There's nothing you could do to make me run...except tell me you don't love me or want me anymore." And even then I would fight for you. Jesse presses tiny kisses over giggling lips and then grins and leans back.

"Well, that's not going to happen, so we should be fine..."

"Good." Jesse grins and lets his hands glide lightly over Gray's sides, tickling him slightly. "Cause life would be so dim without you in it."

"Dim?" Gray repeats. "That may be one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me..."

Blushing a bit, Jesse just nods. "It would. You've given me life and color and vitality, Gray. You made life worth it."

Blushing, Gray looks down a bit--a bit of an 'aw shucks' expression on his face.

Jesse chuckles softly and tips his lover's face up for a sweet kiss, cradling his cheek in one hand. "Love you."

"I love you too...so much."
