Forgive me for beating a dead horse...
But this was in the last thread and I didn't want it to get buried.

Another of MsA's rambles on Sean's mental health

In fact, what I think is far more damaging to him is not an assumption that he bears burdens from his childhood, but an assumption that he bears *no* burdens like that and that his public image of being Mr. Perfect Family Guy is all there is to him. Granted, it's a pedestal he's created himself, but it does him no favors for fans to put blinders on and worship him as St. Sean. For the kinds of issues it appears he has, such worship only makes things much worse, because it creates an impossible standard to live up to. And given how sensitive he seems to be to others' perception of him (yes, including fans) for fans to set those kinds of standards is really unsettling.

Pot meet kettle...you do the same for Dom and Elijah

I suppose maybe some fans have latched onto him as some sort of perfect daddy or husband figure-- the "Sam" they don't have in their own lives-- but expecting him to really be like that in real life is, frankly, creepy. (The same goes for people who have idealised his friendship with Elijah-- as if they're Frodo and Sam or something. Ick. )

WE idealize their relationship? No, we take what THEY have said from their own mouths. And again..pot meet kettle.

Now I have to go out no matter how hot it is..
