Delivery
John watches the last of the delivery men depart and pushes the heavy wooden door shut after them. He turns to the stack of boxes and parcels, grins to himself. It's gonna be like Christmas unpacking this lot... He lets his finger tips dance over the tape that is starting peel off of the top box. He reads the contents label and his belly turns over in excitement. Just a few more moments to savour this before he calls Simon down.

Three weeks from now I'll be 50. Fuck! There were times I never thought I'd get there, but here I am.
As a child I wanted to be a racing driver when I grew up, then I found music; Bowie, The Pistols... and my path was set. I thought I would grow up and get married, have kids... instead I'm still unmarried (though not single) and I have no children. This is my only regret.
I'm sure my darling man will have plans to celebrate, but I think I will come up with my own way of celebrating/marking the occasion.
Maybe more ink, a new car, some art? Mmmm the choices!

I swear to god he does it on purpose!!!! How is it my darling man can have such APPALLING taste in clothes? Please? Okay I know we did the whole dodgy 'New Ro' look back in the day... but really....
I buy him nice stuff, Armani, D&G, McQueen and what does he come home with today? The most hideous shirt in the history of mankind... and I could see it, in his eyes, he was taunting me... bastard....
So anyone else have significant others that deliberately 'push their buttons' just for fun?
