Derek had fallen hard and fast for an English singer, Cheryl Cole and from the twitters and the voice mails on his part, and the messages that their mother was leaving for her, it was getting serious.

It never failed to amuse Julianne that Derek fell for beautiful talented women as quick as he did, he had a bit of the romantic in him.

But it was a few days into her summer break that Maribeth had called her with bad news, on their trip to Tanzania, their first couple vacation, somehow Cheryl had gotten Malaria and collapsed upon their return to London.

So now she sits on standby, reading reports on how devoted her brother is, being his sounding board and repeatedly telling him she'd come if he needed her.
