I felt very poorly today so I just took some T3s -- hello LOOPY! I had to work today and it was boring and sucked, and I felt so tired. :/ When Kev picked me up from work I went home with him and just slept on his couch for 2 hours before dinner while he watched a documentary and did laundry. (Kev is a sweetheart and let me sleep)
Am watching Torchwood now. I love Captain Jack. And Gwen, she's cute. |

I don't feel so hot today. :/ My surgical wounds are doing mostly okay (just twinges of pain and a little bit of difficulty moving) but I'm all crampy. :/ I have to go back to work tomorrow -- even though it's a Civic holiday, and I'll be the only one in the office. Actually I feel so bad that I went to Starbucks and got TWO drinks - a soy green tea latte, and a soy decaf cinnamon dolce latte.
Um as for the LJ-ness -- I've had this journal for 6 years now, and it covers a lot of personal stuff, and definitely more than one fandom so it's pretty bloody unlikely that I'll leave LJ. I did back it all up on GJ though, I'm kagyakusha there too. |

I should preface this with the comment that my DW viewing is sporadic at best and I've been desperately trying to catch up to all the episodes I missed because of school assignments...so don't SPOIL ME IN COMMENTS PLEASE. I've seen maybe 1/2 of the 9th doctor, and bits and pieces of series 2 and a couple of series 3 -- and Torchwood hasn't AIRED here yet at all (this fall according to the promos on CBC) As for the older series' -- I've mostly seen the 5th doctor, I think. I watch it on BBCKids and it's not necessarily in order I think.
Anyway, of the series 3 eps I had seen I thought Martha was....meh. Ok. But I didn't like her nearly as much as I loved Rose. (I really loved Rose) But then I just watched 3x01 Smith and Jones and now....I think I could really like Martha, I do.
And in non-tv related stuff ( my Japanese food ravings ) |

It was a bit of a rough day (er more so for my boyfriend than for me) because Kevin missed his connecting flight because he was in the customs line for hours, so then he was in the flight rescheduling line for another hour because everyone in the customs line also missed their flights. His mother and I kept driving out to the airport trying to meet him. Anyway, he finally came home -- and it is THAT which I am happy about.
:) It's good to have him home.
He did bring me presents of vibrating kitten doll of Jiji from 魔女の宅急便, because I'm always asking for a cat and a possessed walking panda(possessed because it has glowing green eyes)which plays a cheery tune that I do not recognize. He picked up in Yokohama's Chinatown |

for the record - I know I told some people a while back that I was going to Prophecy but.. I won't be able to go. I'm still on medical leave of absence from work because my doctor thinks I'm not well enough to work in an office. So I definitely couldn't travel to Toronto. But um. Have fun. |

edgey_berzerker came over today straight from work and watched Dark Tales of Japan with me. It was really really cheesy. None of the stories were scary, they were just really cheesy. Then I forced her to watch Coupling. Mouhahahaha. Unfortunately due to the constraint of my family (who I kinda need right now because who else is going to take care of me while I'm sick and my significant other is out of the country?) we didn't get to watch her awesome movies. :/ I guess this means I will have to kidnap her at a later date so we can watch them. She did however leave me with entertainment for the rest of my sick leave: The Bartimaeus Trilogy! YAY! |

My poor sweetheart is in Osaka and he's got a very bad cold. He doesn't speak a WORD of Japanese and he needs to know what the name of a good decongestant or antihistamine is that's available in Japan. :( Does anyone know? |

The kind souls at my local Starbucks sent me a fruit & cheese plate as a get well gift.
My family went out for a couple of hours, so I decided to watch Coupling.
Just FYI -- if you have abdominal surgery, comedies are a silly thing to watch. Especially ridiculously funny ones like Coupling. |

I woke up this morning in horrible pain. :( I managed to get in to see my family doctor and he says that my surgical wounds (well specifically the belly button one) are infected. T_T And something about a hematoma(?) too so I have to stay off work another week and take like six bajillion antibiotics. Very depressed. Kevin won't be home until Wednesday now. :/ Thursday is Cirque de Soleil. I hope I'll be well enough to sit up long enough for it.
My sister finished DH this morning and ( spoiler )
I think I'm going to have naptime now. Maybe antibiotics first. |

MAKE IT BIGGER. ;-; (err...I understand how graphics programs work, I am not in fact asking for this to literally be made bigger, I just want another copy of this but in BIG.)
I'm very ill. I need it to feel better. *stares at gaping hole in bellybutton* um. yes. Johnny Depp/Sweeney Todd posters will definitely seal it up. |

Last night I helped Kevin pack, and then we went to the Home County Folk Festival, and finally much much later, we went to Chapters where I had preordered Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Chapters was a MESS. They had no semblance of order whatsoever. We were told to 'merge' into the preorder line (it was a bunch of people milling about randomly through the store, no real LINE..) and this ghastly woman started FREAKING out in absolute hysterics when we merged into a proper line as told because "OMG THESE TWO BUTTED! SECURITY~ SECURITY!!" and proceeded to scream at me for a while until I finally told her that she could go ahead of me because I really don't fucking care. At which point she went and grabbed a random child so that she could scold me for swearing at her --- to which I pointed out that if she were REALLY concerned about "the children" she wouldn't be having a hissy fit. Security of course ignored the psycho. At midnight, all of the people who HADN'T preordered got their books immediately and were out within 15 minutes. The preorders -- who had to PAY ahead of time -- were forced to stand in line for over an hour, touring the whole bloody store before getting their book.><# NOT AMUSED. I'm definitely writing a nasty letter to Chapters. When we got out of the store with the book, we found a lovely tract on the windshield titled "Occult Bondage" or some such. At first Kev thought that we'd been invited to a bondage party, but no, no, it was just the fundies who - knowing that we were buying Harry Potter - wanted to warn us that our souls were in imminent danger. I've been using it as a bookmark. :D Their grammar and spelling is terrible though. I'm going to make a photocopy and red-ink it to send back to them. Kevin left for Japan late this morning so I guess I'll have a lot of time to think about the book. :/ ( spoilers for the whole book! ) |

| Ghosts, craptastic, and DH |
|
|

On the weekend I went on a ghost tour -- and one of the stops was the gazebo that was used in the Stephen King movie 'Dead Zone' with Christopher Walken. I was looking at my photos -- and one of the photos of the beach/lake/fort taken from the gazebo has a white blurry figure in it that definitely wasn't there when I took the photo, and looks like a woman. There wasn't any light sources that could have made a reflection either - I didn't have a flash and it was dusk. Very Nifty. (I tried to find screencaps from the movie but there weren't any ANYWHERE online. :( and I don't have my own computer so I can't MAKE any.)
As for craptastic -- today I was sitting at work when I get a call from my parents, their engine died on the highway and the van is dead. x_x I got them towed back but the vehicle is toast. This means I have to take the bus to work and home from now on, and also? Next week when I have my surgery I have no idea how the hell I'm getting home. Kevin will be in Japan, so he can't drive. :(
As for DH - I'm going to switch my preorder from Oxford Books to Chapters, because there's a $25 price difference. I'm still not exactly sure whether I'll make it for midnight, but I'd like to try.
just an FYI for anyone who was wondering: This LJ is spoiler-free! |

I went on a ghost tour this evening and i'm...more than mildly freaked out now. Can't sleep. O_o And this is without actually being able to book a room at the haunted inn, I'm at HOME...
On top of this, I'm not sure if I'll be able to go get DH at midnight next weekend because my boyfriend leaves at noon on Saturday for Japan. :/ This is awkward since I had already preordered and made plans with edgey_berzerker. |

First, let me start by pointing out that the parents who took their 3-5 year olds to see the midnight premiere are irresponsible ASSHOLES who don't deserve children. Those kids SOBBED through the whole movie -- before anything happened to scare them even because they were so exhausted, and then when SCARY things started happening they sobbed harder. To their mums? You are evil bitches and you do not deserve those children.

I'm going to be missing in action for a while because I just took my computer in to the shop to be fixed. (;_;) Allegedly it will take 2-4 weeks to be fixed --- and I'm having surgery on the 23rd anyway. *sigh* So if you want to talk to me then you have to phone me. :/ Sorry. I *think* everyone has my phone # that would actually care...but if you want it then leave a comment and IF I can get online, I'll try to get back to you.

And yes, I'm trying to go see OoTP tonight. |
