I meant to write up how it went some time ago, and got distracted and out of the habit of posting. Also, morning all-day sickness is still having large effect on my daily life. blech.

Anyway, I posted a request for recs on journalfen, which was very helpful. I ended up using several recs from there:

Overall, they seemed to enjoy the exercise. One of them has even started writing her own meta fic about...well...our class, and physically remixing stories. I'm a character, and I've been told she characterizes me beautifully. I'd post a link, but so far she's only posted it as a note on facebook. If she posts it somewhere with real names protected, I'll let folks know.

That is all I really have to say about tonight's Top Chef. Yup.

I've started this journal as a place separate from my LJ where I can be fannish and/or wanky and not have to worry about crossing the streams with my more RL and academic flist there. I have some nefarious plans brewing about writing about fannish culture in academic terms as I continue my PhD in Comparative Literature, and want to participate more fully in the fandoms I love. I've always been a lurker, but I think I've got some writing in me, as well as some icon making desires. So.
