| Bio: | I'm Kate. I'm currently on my seventh semester of Medicine at UN, in Barranquilla, Colombia. So far it's been a fun trip, full with new experiences. My current goal is to achieve my medical degree in three years and then go into Internal Medicine. I'm Catholic, trying to find my way to the Lord through my life. I love to sing, to read, to watch TV and to cook or bake stuff either on weeknights or weekends. *g* Reading used to be my first love, now goes after medicine. Thus, I haven't read many books in the past years, other than HP books and some or other classic. My list for when vacations arrive is huge, though. I love my sister and my grandmother, miss my dad, my mom and my dogs, along with 'Coto' and 'El Ford'. I make mistakes and commit sins daily, but I confide in being forgiven, both by my peers and by the Lord. My dad passed away on Nov. 13th 2004 and that, along with his illness (lung cancer turned into a year of apparent healthiness, then turned into six months of fighting against a metastasis to his brain no one thought could be until it was too late), has changed my life completely. My mom passed away on August 26th, 2006, from breast cancer. She was a great mom, loving and caring and never afraid to speak what was on her mind. She gave me gentle advices and we shared our points of view of things like friends do. She was a fighter and along with dad, the best models any kid could ask for. It's still hard to believe she'll be gone forever, I keep calling grandma 'Mami' and long for her words and actions in my daily life, but if she and dad had to go, then I'm sure it was for the best. I thank God for putting them in my life. My sister is a doll, and also quite naive, though she tries to pretend she isn't. I may be a bitch to her sometimes, but I love her immensely. My grandma is the sweetest old lady, to me, at least, she's quite cranky around other people, even her other grandchildren and sibilings. I love her. I went to four sessions with a therapist after dad's passing and she declared me completely sane. After mom passed, I also went to a counselor at uni, but scheduling conflicts kept me from going back. She was reassuring in her words to me, though. My best friend My other friends suck I'm currently into HP books and movies (but books come first for me), and into HP fanfiction, with ocassional forays into SV fandom (my first one, back in 2002). I wish I had the talent many people have to express their ideas in such ways as fanfiction or fanart, but I suppose there is a reason for everything.
