I believe in peace. I believe in the healing power of love.
I believe in venting. I don't get arrested that way. I also believe in starting every sentence with "I". I think it's nifty.

I wonder if gay men find yaoi offensive.

I've always found the hubbub about yaoi fascinating, to say the least. Here I am, coming from a culture devoid of traditional porn for women, and guy on guy porn is made for gay men; but in the case of yaoi we have more conventional pornography. And since this is a "written for women, by women" affair, it's not a accurate view of how real homosexuals live. Far from it, most of the yaoi relationships have clear cut "submissive" (Or "girl) and "dominant" (Boy) roles, with the "submissive" one truly earning its (girl) subtitle.

I, even though I'm a girl, find it rather offensive. I wonder what gay men think.

Isaac Newton is related to anime more than you know! [02 Jan 2004|11:23pm]
In an article from the "Straight Dope," it is written that one biographer gave Isaac Newton credit for "discovering gravitation."

Thanks, JACKASS.

I got a livejournal to post on others boards. I HATE LIVEJOURNAL (Why is it so hard to make a password?!?!?)

But I realized how small Journalfen is. For those interested in "Metroid," only 4 show here. So I see what shows up on Livejournal and I see 35 and think, "Wow, that ain't much, compared to 120 journals and 1 community interested in Yuki Kajiura- oh shit, that's 35 communities!"

Evil Samus! AAAAAAAAAH! GO AWAY!!

I love this game. I want to have its children. (Well, considering Samus is female, the game is prolly a girl. Say, you think polygamy is allowed in that underwater city I'm going to in order to marry Yuki Kajiura?)

I was Economics today, and after my test, fighting the urge to sleep, I get a note telling me to go to the assistant principal's office. For what reason had I been summoned? This question circulated in my head as I sat, waiting for some time with my assistant principal.

Finally, I was called in. I trot in anxiously, awaiting what queer, surreal, or horrid twist of fate was to follow.

And he said, by proxy: "Hello. Don't worry, this is a good thing. You are receiving a good note from your English teacher, 'Thank you, you do very well in my class and I'm glad to have you.' Go and take that home to your parents."

So, at the mall with ma and I'm chewing gum. I cast the flavor-devoid gum into its orginal wrapper lovelessly, in order to toss into a trashcan later. Mother pipes up with, "Eww!"

"What?"

"You put the gum into its wrapper. I just think that's gross."

"Hopefully, you don't feel the same way about pads." Pause. "Chewing gum. Pads. Chewing gum. Pads."

"Ew."

There are certain games that, no matter how many times I've played them in the past, I can play again and still getting wholly sucked in.

Final Fantasy Tactics is one, Roller Coaster Tycoon is another.

I'm wondering if Super Metroid will join the list.

I have scientifically determined X is a retelling of Hamlet [25 Nov 2003|06:44pm]
And this is why:

Our story starts with the arrival of our melancholy, ink-clad hero. Prompted by the death of a parent, he returns to his birth place. There, after some super-natural shenanigans and stuff, he discovers his purpose in life and his mighty mission, which he promptly does NOT carry out.

Meanwhile, our hero finds his lady love again. She is a young, pretty thing, whose living relatives are her father and brother. Our hero truly loves her, but must publicly reject her because of reason he cannot disclose to her. Things don't get better for her; her father dies and she eventually goes mad.

Well, there is a lot of story between our hero meeting up with his lady again and her madness, but no one really cares. Anyway, he finally realizes, after contemplating the matter for some time, to finally face up to his destiny.

But alack, a happy, romantic ending for the protagonist does not seem to be possible; the love of his life dies. This event causes the faint foreshadowing of a rivalry between the hero and the young lady's brother to come to pass. It all comes down to their final duel; which includes lots of angst and death.

And the protagonist dies. (Well, for X I can wish)

FFIX Impressions [22 Nov 2003|08:43pm]
My sister borrowed FFIX from a friend, thus I am playing it.

Hm.

The game is.... remarkably barren. It's not boring, it's not annoying, it's not much of anything. I just feel very unmoved by the whole thing. They're nothing that really catches my interest. Zidane's kinda neat, it's nice having a FF hero that doesn't have major issues; Garnet ain't that bad, as far as FF heroines go she's one of the better of the bunch; etc. The only I really, really like is Vivi. Vivi is the whole damn reason to play the game.

I did something exceptionally dorky yesterday. (Yeah, I KNOW about the dorky. It was the best word I could find, so lay off!)

Anyway, walking home, I decided to actually use the crosswalk (A rarity for me). These two women were already standing there, walking for the sign to cross. The sign came up, and I took no time in rushing across the street (Old habit, ya know?).

You see, my "purse" (It's really a backpack, except no girl who actually carries school supplies could find it useful) has a strap and a handle on top of it. I hold it by the handle. I'm not sure how it happened, but midway through I got my leg caught in the strap.

In my defense, I didn't fall on my ass.
