I believe in peace. I believe in the healing power of love.
I believe in venting. I don't get arrested that way. I also believe in starting every sentence with "I". I think it's nifty.

I wonder if gay men find yaoi offensive.

I've always found the hubbub about yaoi fascinating, to say the least. Here I am, coming from a culture devoid of traditional porn for women, and guy on guy porn is made for gay men; but in the case of yaoi we have more conventional pornography. And since this is a "written for women, by women" affair, it's not a accurate view of how real homosexuals live. Far from it, most of the yaoi relationships have clear cut "submissive" (Or "girl) and "dominant" (Boy) roles, with the "submissive" one truly earning its (girl) subtitle.

I, even though I'm a girl, find it rather offensive. I wonder what gay men think.

I so sorry I not been updating! I so sorry!

The monster's cold footsteps echoed in Samus's head. She
drew a jagged breath, and thought bitterly: She must know that I'm done for;
she's taunting me. For a creature that is supposed to be mindless she has a hell
of a sense of humor. Oh, did I call it a she? My mistake. Samus managed to
chuckle to herself, a feat that surprised even her.</p>

She only ran for a short while more before stabbing pain
forced her to stop. Without the bounty hunter's conscious agreement, her body
crashed on the floor. Her hand clutched her stomach firmly as a futile attempt
to keep inside what rightfully belonged to her. Samus attempted to breathe
regularly, so that she could climb to her feet again, but the agony that seized
her being would hear none of it.

Another jolt surged through her again, seemingly ripping
herself asunder, and she thrust her body back in an attempt to relieve the pain.
Once she was able to control her actions again, Samus surveyed her surrounding. Dead
end? Damn it.. this is ridiculous! What is that thing waiting for? I'm right
here and defenseless. Are you enjoying this, SA-X? I'm glad that I spawned not
only a ruthless killer, but a sadistic one too. Samus took a short breath. Absurd.
It feels nothing.

Her bitter asides subsided for a moment in time to locate a
small crevasse in the wall. There was a chance, no matter how small, that she
might survive after all. No time was wasted; in a split second later her
formerly comatose limbs seized the small amount of area necessary to get this
might warrior to survival. Ere her entered the small pathway, the visage of SA-X
flickered briefly in her eyes. Another smile came forth without her approval,
but in such a special case that abnormality was ignored.

The path led to the other side, a wonderful coincidence
that Samus could not be more thankful for. She poured herself out of the hole
promptly, splattering upon the floor. The next few seconds where spend in
fearful vigilance, but these few seconds were all she needed to believe she was
safe. In her reprieve from fear, Samus allowed her mind to think something that
she thought she trained out of it, that she was finally safe.

A faint squeezing sound resonated.

It couldn't be.

Above the mighty bounty
hunter Samus's head were the cold hands of death. Within an eye blink, Samus was
staring down her worst enemy.

There was nothing else to believe but that this was the end
of the line for Samus. This was absurd to her, unbelievable. If fight nor flight
were open to her, what was the last option? Desperation?

Staring at SA-X's cold, alien features, somehow she
couldn't even muster desperation. Couldn't cry, so all Samus did was softly say,
"Please don't kill me."

The SA-X smiled. "Kill you? Why would I do that?"

It smiled? It spoke?

SA-X extended a hand towards Samus. A few seasons passed
and yet Samus remained exactly still. The thing smiled again, which kept Samus
baffled. "Won't you take my hand?"

Samus couldn't comprehend why this creature was offering
her hand, speaking kindly, smiling. She swore this thing couldn't smile;
but the more she looked at it she kept seeing a dark-skinned girl smiling.
Somehow, she couldn't decide which of the two was scarier.

"Oh my, you're bleeding!"

Strange that I almost forgot about that. Her eyes
traveled to her red hand, clenched tightly around an object that was too
blood-soaked to be distinguishable. The smiling girl forced her fingers open,
revealing a rose stem.

"May, that was a good game, wasn't it, Utena-sama?"

Utena, huh? Her eyes stared at pink, vulnerable
skin. No powersuit to be seen, nor any protection of any kind. Utena began to
wonder if it truly was a good game or not.

"You really got into it, Utena-sama." Anthy threw
down her rose; her hands nicked and stained, but mostly whole. The rose merged
into the surrounding sea of red; a sea that held records of memories made here,
games played, and scored tallied. Both girls spent a brief moment contemplating
the field, but Utena turned away from it quickly before she drowned.

Anthy followed soon after. The wind carried the rose
petals above their hands, and Utena, without thinking, reached out and grabbed
one.

I got a livejournal to post on others boards. I HATE LIVEJOURNAL (Why is it so hard to make a password?!?!?)

But I realized how small Journalfen is. For those interested in "Metroid," only 4 show here. So I see what shows up on Livejournal and I see 35 and think, "Wow, that ain't much, compared to 120 journals and 1 community interested in Yuki Kajiura- oh shit, that's 35 communities!"

Evil Samus! AAAAAAAAAH! GO AWAY!!

I love this game. I want to have its children. (Well, considering Samus is female, the game is prolly a girl. Say, you think polygamy is allowed in that underwater city I'm going to in order to marry Yuki Kajiura?)

I was Economics today, and after my test, fighting the urge to sleep, I get a note telling me to go to the assistant principal's office. For what reason had I been summoned? This question circulated in my head as I sat, waiting for some time with my assistant principal.

Finally, I was called in. I trot in anxiously, awaiting what queer, surreal, or horrid twist of fate was to follow.

And he said, by proxy: "Hello. Don't worry, this is a good thing. You are receiving a good note from your English teacher, 'Thank you, you do very well in my class and I'm glad to have you.' Go and take that home to your parents."

So, at the mall with ma and I'm chewing gum. I cast the flavor-devoid gum into its orginal wrapper lovelessly, in order to toss into a trashcan later. Mother pipes up with, "Eww!"

"What?"

"You put the gum into its wrapper.
I have scientifically determined X is a retelling of Hamlet

And this is why:

Our story starts with the arrival of our melancholy, ink-clad hero. Prompted by the death of a parent, he returns to his birth place. There, after some super-natural shenanigans and stuff, he discovers his purpose in life and his mighty mission, which he promptly does NOT carry out.

Meanwhile, our hero finds his lady love again. She is a young, pretty thing, whose living relatives are her father and brother. Our hero truly loves her, but must publicly reject her because of reason he cannot disclose to her. Things don't get better for her; her father dies and she eventually goes mad.

Well, there is a lot of story between our hero meeting up with his lady again and her madness, but no one really cares. Anyway, he finally realizes, after contemplating the matter for some time, to finally face up to his destiny.

But alack, a happy, romantic ending for the protagonist does not seem to be possible; the love of his life dies. This event causes the faint foreshadowing of a rivalry between the hero and the young lady's brother to come to pass. It all comes down to their final duel; which includes lots of angst and death.

And the protagonist dies. (Well, for X I can wish)

My sister borrowed FFIX from a friend, thus I am playing it.

Hm.

The game is.... remarkably barren. It's not boring, it's not annoying, it's not much of anything. I just feel very unmoved by the whole thing. They're nothing that really catches my interest. Zidane's kinda neat, it's nice having a FF hero that doesn't have major issues; Garnet ain't that bad, as far as FF heroines go she's one of the better of the bunch; etc. The only I really, really like is Vivi. Vivi is the whole damn reason to play the game.

I did something exceptionally dorky yesterday. (Yeah, I KNOW about the dorky. It was the best word I could find, so lay off!)

Anyway, walking home, I decided to actually use the crosswalk (A rarity for me). These two women were already standing there, walking for the sign to cross. The sign came up, and I took no time in rushing across the street (Old habit, ya know?).

You see, my "purse" (It's really a backpack, except no girl who actually carries school supplies could find it useful) has a strap and a handle on top of it. I hold it by the handle. I'm not sure how it happened, but midway through I got my leg caught in the strap.

In my defense, I didn't fall on my ass.

You're straight, but open-minded.
Lunar 2 Reflections

Like all people, I notice my tastes in media changing over the years; it is especially apparent when I re-watch or re-play something I loved in my youth. Two conclusion usually come out: "Wow, that was CRAP! Why did I ever like that??" and: "Huh. That was actually pretty good. Huh."

It goes without saying that Lunar 2 falls into the latter. After all, the game is my mack daddy.

I am playing the remake, not the original Lunar 2. The original Lunar 2, with the exception of the graphics, holds up fairly well to contemporary games. The fairly mature story (Compared to most RPGs)and the sparkling translation allowed the game to age well. So why I am playing the remake? First of all, my Sega CD isn't hooked up and barely works. Secondly, I haven't played the remake as many times as the original.

This becomes painfully apparent when I head into areas I remember dreading, and coming out saying "What the hell was that?" I can't really decide whether or not the original is better or the remake. On one hand, the original is a far more challenging game (Up until half-way through, the remake is pathetic), on the other hand that is also a failing. The original can get pretty damn tedious, and I must admit the remake is a far breezier play. I do miss the magic experience system (It spiced up a dull battle system) but I don't miss the weird problem Hiro had in the original where for over half of the game he died far, far too easily.

Anyway, about the game.

I've noticed the voice acting in this game isn't as bad as I expected it to be. No, Working Designs doesn't get the most talented voice cast for their games, but one can spot random rays of light. In particular, I'm noticing Mauri is actually pretty good. Who'da thunk it?

I now know why, in the beginning of Lunar 2, Lucia has no nipples. If she did, she'd be carrying around deadly weapons.
