Why taking a look at the map IS helpful ^^ [07 Aug 2007|04:41pm]
Today I looked up how to get the best from my hotel in Kyoto to Kuramadera. Temple close to Kyoto, Yoshitsune, Takki, bla bla...

First I used the ever helpful *hearts* hyperdia site to check out the train times etc and found out that no matter what I had to change trains at least three times to get from my hotel to the temple. The one that confused me though was that there were different Gojo stations to choose from, when I entered "Gojo" as starting point.

Of course I wanted "Gojo (Subway)" and with this option it would take about 1:15 h to get from the hotel to the temple. Long.

As "Gojo (Keihan)" had me confused a bit so I looked it up in a map and wow...  )

First of all:

Dear Sakurai Sho,

please take care from Sept 8th till Sept 17th, because if you should come across me, I'm going to shake you for quite a long time.

STOP smiling like THAT (at Nino).

Thanks,
Katja

Reason for this:
In really every single episode of "Yamada Tarou Monogatari" he's smiling like THAT and making me all giddy. By now I'm a quite happy puddle of goo -.-
Actually they should have casted him for the role of Yamada Tarou and not Nino, at least in my opinion. I don't know the manga, so maybe I'm wrong, but out of the two of them (Sho and Nino), Sho has a much more charming smile that will make people faint ^^;;;

Strike by locomotive engineers of the German Railway

They will probably go on strike starting this Wednesday/Thursday. First it's just the transport of goods, but quite soon they want to "include" the passenger traffic too.
Their goal is to increase their salary by 31% (yes, this is no type). According to the figures I've seen recently, German locomotive drivers earn less than people with the same job in other European countries. But I bet here they get more days off and that all the insurances are covered, which won't be the case in the other countries.

If they'd get maybe 5-10% more, I would find that still reasonable, but 31% is simply outrageous!

And let me guess, benzine will get more expensive once again, now where the strike is decided -.-;;;

I think it's a success [02 Aug 2007|10:35pm]
Today I went to see the dentist - for the first time since 2001 ^^;;;;;
I loathe going there and thus tried to avoid it as much as possible. As there is no obligation to visit a dentist, this wasn't very difficult *g*

Recently my scale bothered my quite some though. It's not that painful to have it removed, so on Monday I finally called a practice just down the street and actually got an appointment for today o.O That was QUICK.

He took a short glance at my teeth and said that, apart from the scale, everything was alright. Bikkurishita!
I had been so afraid that at least two or three teeth would need further treatment, after all I hadn't been there for six whole years, but... lucky ^^

Removing the scale was as unpleasant as expected, but at least it looks better now ^^ (Okay, my teeth are still crooked, but that's something I'll have to deal with.)

Back home again.

Currently on page 400 @HP
Finished the dreadful FF in time (3200 words)

My Takizawa Enbujo DVD was sent out on the 17th, arrived at Tokyo Airport on the 18th and since then... NOTHING. I'm highly nervous right now and downright annoyed because it should have reached Germany a long time ago. The way I see it, it has been lost somewhere -.-
Great, just great. I bet there is no way to get the poster again that came with the limited edition... if they send it out a second time *sigh*

Why do I pay for EMS if they don't manage to get that one right???

Concerning Harry Potter spoilers [17 Jul 2007|09:47am]
Dear f-list,

please, please, please put EVERYTHING concerning "HP and the Deathly Hallows" under a cut.

Please don't talk to me about it in MSN, comments, RL, whatever. Just pretend the book basically doesn't exist (well, except under cuts of course).

I'm one of those people who consider even a "I (don't) like the ending" as a major spoiler ^^;;;

I won't have time to read it until early August, so I know that each and everyone of you will have read it before me... ;_;

Cuts are your friends ^_~

Japanese @work [12 Jul 2007|02:54pm]
HELP! HELP! HELP!

One of our clients actually needs something translated into JAPANESE *insert Kiara jumping around here happily*
It's only two sentences for a PowerPoint presentation though.

Herzlich willkommen - Welcome - ようこそ

Herzlichen Dank für Ihre Aufmerksamkeit - Thank you very much for your attention - ??? ありがとうございます。

I need a bit help with the second sentence. How can I express this properly?
Somehow our translator (German - English) wrote "Many thanks for giving us your time" there. Is that even good English????

I'm tempted to say よろしくお願いします。at the end of the presentation. Would that be possible too? It's not a real translation but what I think would fit best...

Fujiko: 感謝します
Katsu: 誠にありがとうございます。よろしくお願いします。

I would need it as fast as possible m(_ _)m

Summer doramas - part I [11 Jul 2007|09:13pm]
In the last three days I've watched the first (sometimes even second) episode of the following doramas:

- LIFE (Dark, ijeme, rape and other very serious topics. The plot IS interesting, just the teenage actors look older than they are supposed to be...)

- Yamada Taro no Monogatari (Poor student in a school with other rich kids who believe him to be a prince or something. Nino and Sho from Arashi and very funny so far)

- Papa to Musume no Nanokakan (Father and daughter get their bodies switched and now have to deal with playing the other - which brings them closer together. VERY funny)

- Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Girl pretends to be a boy in an all boys school. You guessed it: very funny too ^^;;; )

There are still four other dorama which will start in the next weeks which I like to watch - but I'll definitely will stick to those four above. And by now I've given up to care about subs. Well... mostly ^^;;;;

[info]katsuchan: your new best friend (when it comes to translations) is now advertising her translations of Zukki's, Seto's and Arayan's blogs in the Tenimyu comm.

For everybody else: IF you are going to read those translations... they contain even more mistakes then my attempts -.- So you might be better of NOT reading them but giving it try yourself *sigh*

J-AMNOS [10 Jul 2007|10:06am]
I don't know if anyone else but [info]vc_mel and me has ordered JE goods from this store - but in case you are still contemplating it: DON'T!!!!

They have some major problems shipping out the goods after it arrived in Taiwan. I really have no clue what they are doing there, or rather don't, but so far I don't think any of the KAT-TUN or Tackey & Tsubasa goods have been shipped yet. They received the goods over six weeks ago. Basically they seem to favour letting the items rot somewhere. Dunno -.-

Today I wrote them my opinion about their lack of service. Let's see what happens. They probably will say "we're sorry. please wait patiently" - I did that. For weeks now and nothing happened. I'm through with being patient, especially as I don't see any process on their side.
I know I risked getting my goods even later, but it's the only chance I have to tell them that running a shop the way they do won't make costumers happy. AT ALL.

In case you have been waiting patiently for a long time too, maybe write them your opinion too? After all, it's your money and your goods.

My July [06 Jul 2007|07:49am]
Just a short update on my plans for this month:

 July 6th - July 9th [info]rina_chu in Bremen
 July 13th - July 16th [info]vc_mel, [info]nfu_nfu and [info]paddyabroad in Bremen
 July 18th - July 22 [info]vc_mel and [info]neitoperhonen visiting them in Stralsund
 July 27th - July 29th Animagic in Bonn

Somewhen after being in Stralsund and before the Animagic I have to manage and read Harry Potter. Or I wait with that and read it after the Animagic without having to rush ^^;;;

But I'm so happy that I get to meet so many friends ^____^
