Chamber of chills: A Marvel Halloween Gift-Exchange

The rules are simple: request four different prompts, tell us what you'd be willing to make (icons, fic, fanmix, art, fanvid), and what characters/books you'd be willing to make something for.

All prompts must have something to do with Halloween. Beyond that, they can be fluffy, horrific, silly, etc., so long as Halloween is in there somewhere.

This exchange is open to any character/book/movie from the Marvel Universe.

Fanmix songs: 5

There are no size or length requirements for art and vids.

Deadlines
Sign-ups will start on September 6 at 12:00 central time and will end on September 28th at 12:00 central time.
The drop out date is Oct 18.
Gift assignments are due between October 25 and Oct 31. During this period, all gifts will be anonymous.
Identities of the participants will be revealed on November 1st to 2nd.

We must be the voice for the people of Iran who would otherwise be silenced. They are without reliable news sources, they are without mobile phone calls, text messaging, facebook, twitter, youtube, AIM, Yahoo, Google, and pretty much every other useful outlet for information you can think of. Yet they persist on the streets and on the internet in any way they can. The least we can do, whether we are across continents, oceans, or time zones, is spread their words safely.

They must fear not only the police, but also the Basij -a force of men loyal to the government who plant themselves among crowds in plain clothes in order to discretely attack protesters and incite chaos.The protesters are peaceful. They mass together in crowds that are reported to grow in size every day. At night they have very few, if any, safe places to stay. Houses with satelite dishes were attacked by the Basij tonight, and during the 50 minutes of Twitter's maintenance, another university was attacked.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

1. The most obvious thing to do is stay informed. Keep an eye on reliable sources on Twitter, refresh blogs and news sites that are covering the stories.


2. If you are on twitter, retweet information from reliable twitters, but REMOVE THE USERNAME if they are in Iran. People have died because of the lack of responsibility by fellow tweeters and the media in this front. They can be tracked down by the government of Iran.


3. Spread the information elsewhere. Repost this article or write your own on Facebook, Myspace, Tumblr, or anywhere else you can think of. If you write your own, make sure you are concise and accurate. Link to your sources for people to learn more.


4. Change your location on Twitter to Tehran or Iran, and your time zone to GMT +3:30.


5. DO NOT auto-refresh and take down websites, even if you are asked. It slows down the internet for the rest of the people in Iran.


6. If you make a proxy DO NOT post it publicly, otherwise it is useless. Send it in a direct message to a trusted source.


7. DO NOT spam the hash tag #IranElection with useless things to "confuse the government". This does not help at all.

The realization that I have way to many shoes. Most of which I do not wear. I guess I'm making a run to the second hand shop.

What I have not found:
Season three of Due South. (or anything but Call of the Wild. Did I take them to half price books and not remember? Ack I wanted to show ani_bester and ellyr_in_ink the pilot movie)

I was cleaning about found my movie!Bumblebee still in his package. And I realized as I gleefully unpacked him -- he doesn't transform. I have a non-transforming Transformer. *Face palm*

I need a "playing with my toys again" icon.

4. Figure out how I'm going to pay for summer intersession since the payment is due may 13 and Aid doesn't go out until the 25th (way to go there school). I might have to do a enrollment loan - if they have money left for it. Otherwise I don't get to take Tolkien. ;_;

Even on scans_daily they can't comment on the comic without going into Gwen bashing.

Is is just me or is there something very sexist about this comment: "Gwen actually looks attractive in this - I guesss it's the lack of whiney voice and gap teeth."

This is a slightly weird one. I'm looking for a Snape/Gilderoy Lockhart fic I read several years ago. It was set after Lockhart had lost his memory and Snape for some reason had taken him in. Hot sex ensued.
