I found this on my hard drive. I can't remember if I wrote it, or if someone else did and I just snagged it. Anyway, I'm posting it. If it's yours, let me know so I can credit you. :D

Sometimes Muggle artifacts weren't all Arthur Weasley brought home from work.

Sometimes he brought home wizarding artifacts. He hadn't expected to find anything as unmagical as black roses hidden under the drawing room floor of the Malfoy house but there had been bushels of them down there. Black rose petals were only used to make satchels for keeping Doxies away from your knicker drawer. They were just terrifically unevil for a Malfoy.

The stack of bills, also found under the floorboards, told the rest of the tale. Arthur clucked his tongue in unwilling sympathy. The extensive renovations, all part of a misguided effort to turn a quite-nice house into a "manor;" the incredible amounts of cosmetics--the "Lush" bills alone would strain any man's income; the odd Muggle artifacts from "Wiccan" bookshops, whatever those might turn out to be--the Malfoys had obviously been living beyond their means for years.

Arthur had even found a veedeoh tape tucked behind a bag of crystals (for jewelry making?). It said The Craft across the top and featured scantily-clad Muggle women looking sultry. Nothing dangerous for the Ministry to take care of here. Tonks might like the veedeoh, though, and there was a witch in who made jewelry as a fund-raiser for St. Mungo’s who could use the crystals.

Of course, the real stunner had been the lockbox protected with an Out-Keeper Charm. He’d been a little confused as to why Malfoy would bother with such a thing; the Out-Keeper was something little girls used to keep snooping brothers from their diaries. Surely anything of the Dark Arts would be better protected than this! Arthur broke it easily, and opened the lockbox.

The contents were even more confusing: more lotions, and a book titled Tantric Magick. Arthur felt a twinge of disappointment. Muggles might be able to make airplanes stay up in the air, but apparently some of them couldn’t spell. He flipped through a few pages.

Arthur blinked. “Oh, my.” He flipped through a few more pages. “Really!” A pause. “You know, I think Molly would like some of these…”

And Jacob Black Will Be Played By...
    Taylor Lautner.

Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz:

I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.

The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

    very best

    Chris Weitz

I'd just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year.

Jacob casting announcement coming sometime this week
And it doesn't stop the lovely members of [info]lion_lamb from wanking about it before it even comes out.

From the EW article: This week, Summit is expected to announce its decision for the next film based on Stephenie Meyer's wildly successful series of vampire romance novels. Kristen Stewart, 18, is set to return as Bella Swan, the beautiful human who falls for a softhearted bloodsucker. And Robert Pattinson, 22, has a lock on his job too; his turn as Edward Cullen, the hunky, soulful vampire, has made him an overnight superstar with young female moviegoers around the planet. But Lautner, 16, has a more uncertain future. That's because the character he was so perfectly cast to play in the first Twilight film—a slim, baby-faced teenager—will be greatly expanded in the sequel. And by greatly expanded, we mean into a hulking, snarling, seven-foot Lycan.

''Jacob is a totally different character in New Moon,'' says Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter of both Twilight films. ''He's a foot taller and huge—and he's supposed to look 25. It's really a question of whether or not the same actor can play the role.'' Rosenberg is quick to add, however, that ''everyone would love to keep him. We all think he's the loveliest person ever.''

Fans of the Twilight novels—specifically those who identify themselves as ''Team Jacob''—are divided over whether Lautner has the machismo to carry New Moon. In fact, pro-Lautner/anti-Lautner fights have been breaking out on the Web for weeks. As screenwriter Rosenberg puts it, ''He has to play a romantic lead against Rob, who's a 22-year-old man. That's a tall order.''

Cue the choruses of ROB'S HOTTER, NO TAYLOR, NO U! )

ETA: It is officially announced that Taylor will continue to be Jacob in 'New Moon.' And there was much rejoicing in TwiLand.

    Poor RPattz...
The next installment to the vampire saga that is on every hot list is going to be a labor of love. Rumors are running rampant that Summit is concerned about the film’s success. While there is little to no doubt the film will do well, concerns are focused on the monumental following Robert Pattinson is pulling.

The “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” focuses on Bella Swan’s best friend, Jacob Black. There is drama in the casting department for Jacob, but beyond that there is a lack of the heartthrob factor of Edward Cullen. Summit fears that the lack of Robert and his character in the film will leave the audience unhappy and won’t bring the numbers they are hoping for.

So spies are squealing that the plot and script are being altered to give Pattinson more screen time.

“They want to find a way to give Robert a bigger role than the book calls for without making major changes to the story line.”

Currently Taylor Lautner is still fighting for his role as Jacob, but Michael Copon is pulling ahead according to Life and Style.

RPattz is grasping at straws now...
    From IMDb:

Pattinson Eyes A Problem For Vampire Sequel

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson isn't looking forward to reprising his blood-sucking role in the hit film's sequel New Moon - because he has to wear uncomfortable contact lenses for the part.

The British star played vampire Edward Cullen in the box office adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's cult book, and has signed a multi-million dollar deal to play the character again in the franchise's second outing in 2010.

But he is dreading preparing to shoot the new venture - because wearing his character's topaz coloured contacts is such a painful ordeal.

He tells Britain's Ok! magazine, "Wearing coloured contact lenses... It was like I constantly had sand in my eyes. I was wearing them for three months constantly and my eyes never ever accepted them! It took me 20 minutes per eye every single day and I ended up having to literally fold it into my eyeball."

And the star believes the dreaded lenses may inhibit his acting skills - because he couldn't properly portray his character's emotions due to the "two orange blobs" in his eyes.

He adds, "It was frustrating as well because normally your eyes are saying something, but if you've got two orange blobs in your face it's so annoying!

"The director (Catherine Hardwicke) would say, 'Look at her (Kristen Stewart) like you love her,' and I'd be like, 'I'm trying!' I'm going to have to do it again because we're making the sequel next year."

He can't be Edward, you gaiz! He can't ~*~*~emote~*~*~ with the contacts!

I'm really getting tired of Live Journal being such an ass. On the one hand I'm really glad I didn't give them any more of my hard-earned money for a permanent account but on the other I'm really incensed that their standard has gotten so much lower ever since they were bought by that Russian company and they moved their servers to some remote location. I think I'm gonna send them a nasty letter... when their server becomes functional again.

On an unrelated note, it seems like Bristol Palin has inherited her mother's penchant to give strange names to her babies. Her new born son is named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston according to People magazine.

WTF? JF won't let me C&P the website link?!!?
