5:02 pm - I love it whern people give me what I want.
The latest example:

A user named randomstasis posted to fanficrants to complain about short chapters. The oversensitivity brigade promptly took offense at her tone, and said that although they agreed with the rant, couldn't she be less condescending about it?

Cue wank.

Randomstasis goes bananas and starts being condescending to everybody. She pulls out dictionary definitions of "rant"; when that fails, she brings up Norse and Celtic oral tradition and paints disagreements with her as an attack on art. Meanwhile, catchester - yes, her - is backing her up, telling people to "get over it or get out."

(Catchester has not yet responded to my smackdown.)

Then randomstasis compares one person's disagreement with her to rape. I responded to that bit of disgustingness, then went on with my day.

Well, I came back to the post to see what it was doing, and discovered that randomstasis had edited it to change some phrasing that someone objected to. Since she admitted it, it would usually be a temp ban - but after that comparison I had no patience and banned her for good.

Now, all I need is for catchester to break the rules.

I so wish I could ban people from weepingcock because I don't like them. In this post, we have mcity with yet another stupid furry porn quote, and karmyn75 (she of the clueless deleted i_wanks) telling us about that time she had crunchy panties.

MAKE THEM GO AWAY.

So, I haven't read the Twilight books, and don't intend to, because everything I've read about them makes me think that I would dislike them.

(Not only dislike, but be offended. Both at the poor writing and the implied attitudes.)

And yet, somehow, I don't think that the author deserves to be mocked for being upset about the leak of one of her drafts. Earning millions on sparkly vampires doesn't mean that he should just smile and say "I can't be sad because I have MILLIONS OF ILL-GOTTEN DOLLARS" when something happens that would upset most normal human beings.

If I was in the same situation, I would be upset, embarrassed, and disinclined to continue as well.

7:03 pm - Your plan, it is backfiring.
[info]smart_blonde223 is now trying to pretend that her journal has been HACKED BY ANONYMOUS. Nevermind that I've been checking her journal periodically since I realized the sockpuppetry, and she was posting normally until after I called her out.

But anyway, since I am nothing if not helpful and considerate, I emailed the contact-able mods of her other communities with this warning:
Hi there.

I'm one of the maintainers of fanficrants. We're about to ban smart_blond223 from the community because she has been trolling herself using a sockpuppet, helena1234. The two relevant posts are here:

http://community.livejournal.com/fanficrants/7071285.html
http://community.livejournal.com/fanficrants/7129984.html

(If they're deleted by the time you get this message, I have screenshots. All you have to do is ask.)

Once she was called out, she began to spam her journal with offensive material so that she could claim to have been hacked. Now, I don't believe for one moment that she has actually been hacked (you can see my reasoning on the second post I linked you to).

However, if it's true that she's been hacked, then the person that is in control of her account now likes to post massive amounts of pornography and nazi spam, and might start posting it to her communities next. I thought you guys deserved a warning.

12:49 am - An update to my previous post:
[info]icedmaple is complaining about it in her journal (two posts) and it's hilarious. She's calling me, among other things, "one of the most childish, arrogant, and petty people I've ever met on the internet." And also "a total headcase."

This is the same person who accused me of not deleting her comments because I wanted to show off how I'm much more rational than she is. And who honestly, truly believes that she’s psychic.

(I'm just going to ignore how she completely missed my point about religion, because that's actually a bit annoying. Let’s just hope she’s put off enough by the “complete fucking imbecile” modding the community to leave it.)

2:12 pm - Where have I read this story before?
I love this post on [info]little_details for reasons too numerous to mention, but I see bad things on the horizon. I hope that the wi-fi at work is up so I can keep an eye on it.

(My favorite part is how she thought it was relevant that the younger twin is still a virgin.)

Who here lives in a country with free healthcare and would like to marry me? D:

I will cook, clean, and take care of your cats. I might also take care of your kids, depending on if they are crate trained.

11:51 pm - WRYYYYY
Someone didn't get the memo that fandom is broke up with this question for being a sexist dickwad years ago.

when I do think about [yaoi] I'm usually mystified as to the why. I mean, it's not exactly something you watch to get aroused for, the way guys look at lesbians porning out. this.

... uh-huh. It's definitely not.

10:27 pm - Note to self: remember why anyamarcos is loathesome
There are harmless morons who you almost enjoy seeing because of their entertainment value, and then there are offensive, racist morons who should just drop off of the face of the earth.

If she's not banned (and isn't banned after this reveal), then it's important to keep the two straight, so the level of condemnation and shunning remains appropriately high.

9:43 pm - I AM SO EXCITED
We spotted "it was a social experiment" in our very own backyard! It was even of the beautiful "for psych class" variety.

I'm not sure that we should be interacting with it, but it's such a compelling creature that it's hard to resist.

Here.

The background story is basically that maiyri posted to fanficrants congratulating herself for flaming a twelve-year-old author. Then after being criticized, she posted again, breaking the fanficrants rule about extending drama into new posts. That's why she was banned. The posts are linked from the recent posts in ffrantsrants.

3:21 pm - Holy anonymous comment spam!
Why is it that JF has such a problem with anonymous comment spam, versus LJ? I just spent way too much time deleting anonymous spam on both of my JF accounts.

So sadly, I have to go to no-anonymous commenting. I don't like to do that because it's not as if getting a JF account is effortless, but that was just ridiculous.

11:55 pm - Please don't delete. Please don't delete. Please don't delete.
jewelia13 just posted this on ffrantsrants, the community where fanficrants members bitch about each other.
Hey, all! New member here, and I just wanted to say a few things. (Yes, I am a member of fanficrants as well... I wanted to see how the other side thought. You know, and get the whole perspective on the concept.)

1. Hee. This is one of the snarkiest pages I have come across in a *long* while. Kudos to you all for not just sitting back and taking it!

2. That being said, we sometimes do have valid points. (Even though I will admit to being a grammar and spelling nazi. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone, but I edit my mother's newspaper articles and it's sort of a habit now. And yes, I miss things. Sometimes several things.)

3. I discovered this site as part of a nasty post on fanficrants. I thought it would be awful with vicious, baseless attacks (something like, "Well, you suck 'cause you're fat!"). That just goes to show what I know!

Anyways... hi!
She apparently managed to bypass the whole, you know, point.

9:39 pm - I had fun today.
Here. My favorite part is when not_quite_queen still didn't get it even after being rickroll'd. Twice.

My second favorite part is from [info]eleanorb, who has some sort of time zone rage. She complained in the post (screened), but the best part is from her personal journal:
You know what I hate? People posting April Fool's jokes on international communities. Assuming everyone follows the 'lunch time rule' our jokes aren't funny to the Aussies and New Zealanders and the Yanks jokes aren't funny for us.

Stop it already!!!
TIME ZONES ARE SERIOUS, GUYS.

I'm obviously getting tired of all of the rape rants on fanficrants. On the latest "rape is srs bizness!" post, I almost replied, IT WASN'T SERIOUS WHEN I RAPED YOUR MOM.

Foof is a bad influence.

I didn't do it, because it would be horribly offensive. And the sad thing is that I agree with most of these rants. It's just PLEASE STOP POSTING ABOUT IT. I KNOW. WE GET IT.

Someone asked me for a link to that horrible Domlijah manip, and I can't for the life of me remember where I last saw it. Does anyone have it bookmarked?

Hay, is this possible grudgewank on our weepingcock? I know, I know, that's too good to be true; it's probably just some twit missing the point. Again.

2:12 am - I've discovered a line that I won't cross.
Usually, I'll follow a good author into the depths of hell. There's very little that I won't read, if I recognize and respect the name attached to it.

But I just saw something I hadn't even realized was one of my squicks:

Zuko/Iroh

This hadn't even occured to me. I would rather it never have occured to me; for some reason Avatar turns all of the things that I just go "eh" about when in other fandoms (like adult/child incest) into "omg no."

And I was so happy to see that she had written Avatar fic, too.

5:49 pm - HEY ASHENMOTE
... ;_;

There's an idiot on fanficrants who is saying that blackmailing a woman into sex isn't rape; that violence or the threat of violence is required. The idiot is German and made a vague reference to German law being different.

Do you know anything about what German law says regarding rape and consent? All I can find (being limited to English and lacking in Google fu) is that Germany has the crime of "sexual coercion", which doesn't require proof of force or resistance, that can be aggravated to rape if intercourse occurs.
