Amazon Deal of the Day Are you an SG1 fan? Do you have one on your holiday shopping list? The Gold Box Deal of the Day on Amazon is the complete series of SG1 for $179.99. (Yeah, that's still a hefty price tag, but it's way better than the $329.98 list price or the $229.99 that it cost on Amazon yesterday. |

Are you going to the toga party? ( Spoilers for Chuck and Heroes )Randomly, it occurred to me tonight (and I don't think this is terribly spoilery, which is why it's outside the cut) that Sam Winchester and Chuck Bartowsky would have been at Stanford at the same time. *looks cutely at f-list* Who's gonna write me that crossover fic? Hmmmm? |

My Four Favorite Words ( Cut for Chuck and Heroes Spoilers )I think I'm gonna go to bed now and read everyone else's theories tomorrow. And write fic. Because I made notes during the episode for a plot bunny that viciously attacked me this evening. Current Mood: squeeful |

TV Talk Monday night TV owns me. Okay, the rest of the nights are pretty good too. But Mondays almost universally suck so having awesome TV to look forward to almost makes up for that. I'm too tired to actually post anything of substance about tonight's epsidoes of Chuck and Heroes, but suffice it to say, I loved them. Tuesdays I'm watching Bones (which I'm only starting -- timjr is catching me up) and we've been alternating Reaper and House thus far. We will not be watching Reaper this week because the preview indicated that it had to do with bugs and EW. Wednesdays is Pushing Daisies. I've seen the pilot a few times and it's awesome and I'm really excited to see what the rest of the season is going to be like. Thursdays is 30 Rock (another show that timjr got me turned on to recently). And then SUPERNATURAL! I enjoyed the premiere and I'm kind of annoyed with a certain subset of the fandom, but, again, I'm tired and I don't feel like ranting. Fridays we've been watching Moonlight. The pilot was pretty cheesy, though I thought the show had potential. Plus, Jason Dohring is hot. I thought last weeks' episode was a thousand times more interesting and I'm willing to stick with it for now. So I've got 9 shows at the moment. Six of them are new ones though - so we'll see if they all last. Or if my interest in them lasts. That's -- pretty much it for now. Life has been mundane which is why I haven't been posting much. |

*waves to f-list* Hey all
Sorry for my unexpected disappearing act. While I was traveling, I contracted a nasty cold and it's kept me in bed pretty much since I got back to Maryland.
I'm waaaaaaaay behind on my f-list, so please point me in the direction of anything you think I need to see. |

Leavin' on a Jet Plane Okay, actually, a Greyhound bus, but I don't know any songs about Greyhound buses. Anyway - point being - I'm heading up to Pittsburgh tomorrow to spend a long weekend with my family, thus, my internet availability will be more limited than usual because I'll actually be leaving the house and being social. *gasp* *shock* I'll be checking in when I can and possibly even hopping on AIM for brief bouts (if I can wrestle burningforlife away from the computer). Hope everyone has a great weekend and MONDAY IS THE HEROES PREMIERE WHEE!! |

Fic Pimp This is mostly for Mare, but there may be other folks on my f-list who are interested :) thebratqueen has written two post S1 Heroes Peter/Nathan fics. Now, you all know I'm not a huge 'cest fan, but I love the set up of these fics, so I'm reccing them. George Bernard Shaw and the sequel, Benjamin Franklin. Also, bellatemple has started a sequel to her infamous Xander fic with 80 bazillion other fandoms fic, Fanon Fodder. This time around, it's Sam and Dean who are pulled into her bizarrely awesome meta universe in Fanon Fodder II: Fanon's Revenge. Now, if only they would pass along some of that writing mojo to me so I could actually finish the two very late ficathon pieces sitting on my harddrive. |

I love three-day weekends! My weekend thus far: Friday - went grocery shopping after work. Came home and RP'd a bit and then went to bed early because my knee was bothering me and I needed to take pain pills. Saturday - watched 14 episodes of Heroes with my roommates. Made frozen pizzas for dinner. Sunday - watched the rest of S1 of Heroes with my roommates. Also watched National Treasure with timjr as he had never seen it. He made a lemon pepper chicken for dinner. I made stuffing to go with it. RP'd a little. Today - slept in until 10:30. The rest of the day shall be spent getting little things done - like laundry and possibly trying to re-arrange the furniture in my bedroom since my workout kit arrived and I need to clear space so I have somewhere to actually do it. I also need to do some admin-y stuff at Voices. Yes, long weekends are fabulous. I wish we had them more often. |

My Brother, The Hero OMG
So, I almost always turn my cell phone off and charge it while I sleep. I went to bed about an hour ago, but was lying there reading. About twenty minutes ago, my phone started ringing. I had completely forgotten that it was in my bag still from work.
I answered it because it was my little sister calling - and she knows that I go to bed early, so I figured it must have been something important.
Well, she was calling to tell me that she had sprained her ankle at play practice.
But then she told me that our little brother (who is 14) saved someone's life today.
Yes. You read that right. My baby brother saved someone's life.
He just got his lifeguard certification this summer through Boy Scouts - because they needed a certain number of certified lifeguards for the 120 mile canoe trip they did a few weeks ago. And since he got the certification, he's been working up at the Boy Scout camp a few days a week as a lifeguard.
Today, apparently, a kid almost drowned. My brother performed CPR and saved the kid's life.
There are no words to express how amazed and proud I am right now and I have to share with the entire internet.

Supernatural Season Three A friend of mine had the opportunity to interview some of the Supernatural folks at Comic-Con in San Diego. Her article about the interview is now online here. If you haven't seen Season Two, you shouldn't read it since they talk explicity about S2 finale spoilers. It has some vague Season Three spoilers, but nothing that I think would ruin anything for anything :) So go check it out! |

Testing 1, 2, 3 ... anything but that.
This is weird.
I'm about to post to all four journals with the click of a button... assuming I've done this correctly. I never used Semagic before.
