ETA: Ty is awake after anesthesia and doing well. He had a blocked urinary tract and lots of crystals in his bladder. With any luck we can keep it from recurring by diet control. (I wonder if ladybugs are on that diet.) |

There's painting and closet stuffs and changing out the lighting and more painting and welding and all sorts of things happening that are all good and necessary and mean that one day things may actually be moved from the current house to the new house, but at the moment mean busy and perhaps a touch achy.

There's Callie (the long-haired calico) and her brother Big Black. And our volunteer kitten from this sunmmer. Who is still referred to as 'kitten' because we haven't come up with a name yet. Very interesting coat, though -- the markings are very much like those of Ty (in my icon) only instead of the lavender-gray, he's more tortoise-shell. I bribe them all shamelessly with treats. |

Overheard in the eye-doctor's waiting room:
CNN was reporting on a Supreme Court case where a student had been banned from displaying a banner that read "BONG HITS 4 JESUS" outside his school, and the ruling was upheld on the grounds that schools can ban things that are determined to be promoting drugs...
Woman in waiting room: "That's ridiculous! That has nothing to do with drugs! Do they even know what a bong is?!"
Incredibly apropos CNN person: "For those who don't know, a bong is used for smoking marijuana and other substances..."
Woman: "Oh."
CNN drones on...
Woman: "The only bong I know of is that Chinese kind that makes noise when you hit it..."
She remained quite indignant that the poor student's encouragement of making noise for Jesus resulted in his suspension, and in the Supreme Court upholding it.
