Hey...I just read the fan history thing...and honestly I found the whole thing a little silly. BOODITH is obviously a great writer, and when I was reading the trilogy (I stopped after it was clear D/G were going to end up together) I remember all of her disclaimers made it very clear that she was barrowing from various shows and books and it seems like she always made the effort to mention it.

I mean, isn't that the point of fanfiction? To have fun with characters and worlds that were created by someone else and blend them together with your own ideas? I was reading the examples of her plagerizing and they weren't that strong, the strongest example was the part of that chapter nine in which she actually does clearly state it is not her own creation (though not to a specific author, though she is upfront about simply not remembering the woman's name...which I can understand raising a few eyebrows, but I mean, come on, she obviously states it is not hers).

I don't know, I just found the whole thing to be rather ridiculous. She always had disclaimers that she put stuff in from other books and tv shows other than HP and I mean...its fanfiction, its supposed to be something for enjoyment and fun. I completely understand why people wouldn't want fanfiction writers to blatently rip off another fanfiction writer's work...that would be ridiculous. But all BOODITH seems to have done is incorporate other fandoms into her writing...which you know, is what fanfiction sort of is.

I don't know, does that make sense to anyone? Anyone completely disagree?
