Rob Liefeld Insults Everyone Many thanks to the people at wank_report for this one! (I don't know a lot about the comic book world so please let me know if I made a mistake.) Part One: In which Rob Liefeld demonstrates how to thoroughly burn one’s bridges and also that he doesn’t know how to blog. Leifeld announces via Twitter that he’s quitting DC Comics and is clearly unhappy with working conditions there: "This is the 4th time I quit in the last 4 months. This time it will stick" … "Massive indecision, last minute and I mean LAST minute changes that alter everything. Editor pissing contests… No thxnjs [sic]". Individual tweets are compiled into a post at Bleeding Cool. He continues trashing DC Comics on Twitter and gets specific about editor Brian Smith. Marvel’s Tom Brevoort defends Smith and when he is asked whether Marvel would hire Liefeld, he replies: "After that Twitter flame-out, I can’t say I’d be in a hurry to get onto that train." And it’s on: ( #doucher )Part Two: In which Rob Liefeld does not know how to screencap or stop talkingScott Snyder, currently working on Batman, contacts Liefeld privately. Liefeld insults him and co-writer Greg Capullo, saying that their books only sell because of the title. Liefeld makes the messages public but he doesn’t know how to screencap, so he takes photos of his computer screen instead. The battle continues and Scott emerges as the clear winner, and not simply by virtue of not being Rob Liefeld. ( Ah, comics )And no Rob Liefeld mention would be complete without these two posts: The 40 Worst Rob Leifeld Drawings40 More of the Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings | | Friday, June 25th, 2010 | | 5:06 pm |
Guess what else criticism of your fic is not like? This post was rejected from Unfunny Business for some reason but I don't want the several minutes I spent writing this up to go to waste, so I'm posting it here. Sinuous_curve makes a post detailing the problems they found in a bandom Big Bang fic in which a male character becomes female. The author, randomepiphany, responds by removing the fic and describing sinuous_curve’s post as being akin to gang-rape. They also remove all their fic from the internet, leaving this message on their website: This site and its fiction have gone away, prompted by the vicious actions of a handful of folks who thought it was more appropriate to attack me than actually communicate with me about what they perceived as offensive material in a story I'd written. Your fandom at work, folks! Enjoy it. –REBonus: Someone who got a chance to see the fic before posting did point out the problematic areas but the author ignored all suggestions. And got kinda creepy.ETA: Randomepiphany edited their post to be even more offensive, her fans are showing up in sinuous_curve's to complain (this is my personal favourite) and people who Just Don't Get It are posting about how mean everyone is. | | Sunday, September 21st, 2008 | | 2:29 am |
Fic: An Exchange of Services (Mike/Simon, As The World Turns) Title: An Exchange of Services Author: Moopie Pairing: Mike Kasnoff/Simon Frasier Fandom: As The World Turns Rating: R Disclaimer: As The World Turns belongs to Proctor and Gamble. No money is being made from this story. Author’s notes: Thank you to blacklacewings and raynedanser for their excellent beta work. All remaining errors are my own. This started out as a light-hearted, slightly silly fic that poked fun at soap opera conventions. It turned into something quite different. Explanations for the references to episodes are provided in the end notes. All feedback, including con-crit, is loved and appreciated. Posted to addictedtoatwt and fic_fusion. Fic: That Kind Of Serious (Dallas/Henry, As The World Turns) Title: That Kind Of Serious Author: Moopie Pairing: Dallas Griffin/Henry Coleman (As The World Turns) Rating: PG-13. References to sex but nothing explicit. Warning/s: Cheesiness Category: Slash, slightly AU Disclaimer: As The World Turns belongs to Proctor and Gamble. No money is being made from this story. Author’s note: Thank you to blacklacewings for the beta. I love con-crit, so don’t be shy about leaving it. Feel free to email if you’d rather not leave a public comment. If you get to the end, thank you for reading! Also posted to addictedtoatwt and fic_fusion. ( That Kind Of Serious ) | | Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006 | | 8:21 pm |
Panda fic! I'm collecting the Panda fic from Pandameme. If anyone has Panda fic saved, I'd be most grateful if they could post it here, or on lol_meme, or they can email it to me. Thanks! | | Monday, November 21st, 2005 | | 7:29 am |
Projection and Mulitplicity These are some thoughts I’ve had for a while and finally had time to write them down. If you get through it, thanks for reading. If you’d like to comment, I’d love to hear your thoughts, just respond to the first comment instead of the post so that things are a little easier on my inbox (it also makes it easier to go through comments). If anyone has a better and less pretentious sounding word than "multiplicity", I’d love to hear from you. ( Read more... ) |
