Remember that meme the other day? Well, Random foolishly asked for Urban Nordica! …as it would play out on The Discworld
.
This is probably not quite what he was intending but, well…

Who remembers that fic-line meme from the other day?
cathedral-junki apparently does. Alas, I apparently forget that the quote, Not just a little bit; catastrophically, planet-smashingly, incalculably, crap-where-are-the-paddles wrong.
comes from "The Worst Time-Travel Fic in the Fandom".
Oh well.
So here you go,
cathedral-junki; your Sigki pr0n drabble. Okay, it's strictly-speaking, a) not pr0n (I like to think it's "tastefully vague"), and b) not a drabble (it's 161 words), but… um. Enjoy?
( The first thing is the heat. )
Things I have learnt:
Amazing.
P.S. The game's still open, if anyone else wants to play…

Icons. I make them sometimes. You may steal them; I don't mind. Here, have a grid.
Consider these by-nc-sa. You don't have to comment if you take any, but it would be nice.

Okay. Screw this writer's block bullshit! I've decided to take a leaf out of
terrayndian's book and force myself to do the typey.
One of the scenes I always used to imagine as kinda slotting in between the first two books of Corner involved Loki essentially proposing to Sigmund. Of course, Loki already considers Sigmund his wife on account of the fact that Sig is the reincarnation of Sigyn (i.e. Loki's wife). Other complicating factors? Loki doesn't believe in, a) love, or b) romance.
Should be fun. 1,400ish words.
( Three months after the end of the world, he was called up into Hale's office. )

You know what would make today better? Some pr0n.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pr0n, but I do have some WiPs. I've been a bit hurrtarded with the writing lately; bashing out maybe ten words before getting distracted with other people's porn. So instead of giving you anything finished, here are three fragments from my current projects; Corner, "Jamais Vu" and (yes) UIP.
So.
First up, we've got the start of a Sigmund/Loki PWP smutlet. For the lulz, I decided to pay around with second-person present tense narration. This is mostly inspired by a brilliant CLex fic I read and have since promptly lost the link for (it got eaten when Google Notebook failed to inform me of its byte limit on notes). That sentence would have so much more impact if I could find the link to the fic, hey?
( The feeling hits you half-way through your Psych lecture; a sort of low, humming pressure. )
Next up we've got the first part of "Jamais Vu", called 'How'. This ends far too abruptly for it to be considered 'finished' but I've lost the mental trail of what else I want to use it to say. Hrm. Stupid uncooperative Clark! Narrate better you alien bastard!
( He'd been dead the first time they met. )
I feel like a bit of a cock-tease with this, since it got stuck on 573 words and didn't want to go anywhere else. It's supposedly one of the longer chapters in the story, too. What a pain.
Still, since I know so many of you are waiting for it…
And there you go. Your quotient of pr0n for the week. Don't say I never gave y'all nothing.
… I use too many goddamn italics.

First things first: There are only three more days left in the Bookhabit Unpublished Competition. It's been a nail-biting week, and after dropping down to 13th place Chainbreaker has managed to claw its way back up to 8th.
But we still need you help if we're going to remain in the top ten for the next round, so if you're reading this and you haven't voted yet I implore you to please take a few moments and do so. It means a lot.
And to all of you who've already done so, ♥.
My SL skin! Eet eest finished!
Well, finished enough for sale though I'm sure I'll continue to dabble on it; I'm still not entirely happy with the join between the abs and hips, but I think I need some Moar Practice in order to make it better. So for now it's up for sale at OnRez for the low low price of L$50. Huzzah!
And because I needed somewhere to leave my OnRez and SLex dropboxes, I'm now a landowner! A 512 plot in Fenland West called The Haunt. I'd been shopping around for a few days looking for plots and getting more and more despairing at the ugliness of it all. Yesterday, however, I finally got the Lindens to make my buy and, lo, the first (and cheapest) plot I clicked on left me staring right into a neighbour's yard that had been beautifully terraformed with trees and a waterfall/stream and a scattering of throw pillows. Okay, so the floating "beach mansion" on the other side was pretty uninspired, but compared to the previous lots I'd seen this place was bliss. So I staked it out and rezed my treehouse, set up my studio (essentially just a flat L of prims usually coloured either white or black, as a background to take model shots against), put down my drop boxes and patted myself heartily on the back.
While I was at it, I figured out how to edit prims in-game, which was fun. I can now successfully make squares and lay down different textures per side; go me!
Next on the agenda is terraforming the land some more; putting in some rocks and shrubs and a pond (pond is cool). Then getting to work on Loki's kilt thing. Huzzah!

Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.

The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the idealised past.
Quoted From: Robertson Davies
Long experience has taught me this about the status of mankind with regard to matters requiring thought: the less people know and understand about them, the more positively they attempt to argue concerning them, while on the other hand to know and understand a multitude of things renders men cautious in passing judgement upon anything new.

So I finally got around to finishing off the legs and touching up the face for that skin of Loki you'll all hopefully remember I was working on for Second Life. So, without further ado…
( Cut for ZOMG NAKED PIXELS! (NSFW) )
So there you go. Obviously I've got a bit more work cut out around the groin and waist; it didn't quite end up lining up like I'd imagined it would, which cut off the bottom of my abs shading. And the groin totally didn't do what I was expecting so it's back to the drawing board on the pubes fur.
Still, I'm proud of it so far. Hence the whole "sneaking off to a secluded spot to take naked photos of it in lulzy model poses". Oh I've got more, believe you me… (Not naked, though. Honest!)
I'm also mucking around a bit with the way the game renders different genders slightly differently. The left image is Loki's male bodytype, while on the right it's her female one. The middle is sexed as female by the game, but is otherwise closer to the male version; it's the 'androgynous' Loki body-type, I guess. It's interesting to flick between the three shapes to see which one 'work's best, though I suspect that's going to have a lot to do with whatever outfit Loki's wearing at any one time.
So. Nearly there.
Oh, and do you like my jaunty little EGL hat? It's from Curious Kitties which is not only absolutely overflowing with awesome veekay clothing, but is also currently hands-down the most beautiful place I've walked through. Seriously; go visit this place, if only to look at the decor. It's well worth it.

Because Corner/Nordica totally needs more fanservice.
This is Lain, the 'human' guise of Loki, though he's looking a little bit wild here. Sketched during the last half-hour of work today and speed-coloured in PhotoShop. Because I can.
Also! Check it out; it's the JLA jumper (minus some members) I found in the mall a couple of weeks ago!

Last week's work sketches? Sure, why not. Only two this week, apparently I had less meetings.
