Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

Just a little something that came to me last night while waiting for sleep. I don't think it belongs on the ship, but it amused me. :)
When I came home from the HBP midnight release party, I found a dead mouse in a glue trap on my kitchen counter. I should have taken this as an omen that:
A. My ship had been sunk. There was no need to read the book, JKR had betrayed me.
B. My favorite character had been mutilated beyond all recognition. See above.
C. *cue Sybill Trelawney voice* Ooooh Aaaaah. Someone's going to diiieeee. It's like the grim, man.
D. My apartment is teh suck and I should move ASAP because mice have no business inside in July.

Okay, so this is totally lame, but I just remembered about the mouse and I figured some people who were into symbolism would have thought it "meant something."
