Can't ... take ... the .... pressure ...

... or ... speak ... at ... normal ... rate ...

(heh - there's a Simpsons quote for everything, y'all)

Anyway, about this whole Chase for the Championship thing. Can't stand it. Tomorrow night we will know for certain if Mark has made it into the hunt, and the stress is driving me (hee) right around the bend.

I friggin' dreamt about this g.d. race last night. It has infiltrated all parts of my subconscious. (And for the record, the dream was bad... bad bad. Like when I woke up I felt like crying bad. Like he finished dead last bad. But fear not, for my dreams are never ever prohpetic in any way, shape, or form. I swear. Never. *knock on wood*)

Argh - my blood pressure!!

A tisket, a tasket....

... a quite enormous basket.

This is the Six Pfamily basket we put together for the team for Michigan. Yes, it is a laundry basket. It took both me and SexyRexy to carry this to the souvie trailer, and we got lots of weird looks from people, but I didn't care. It felt great to do it for the guys - I know they appreciate it!

Included were some Canadian things, like salt and vinegar chips, Cadbury Caramilks and Aero bars, and Smarties. Also: Gatorade (of course), salsa and chips, popcorn, nuts, and lots of fruit (bananas, pears, apples and peaches). I also included a Canadian Loonie for luck, some nerf-style swords, and some frozen shower gel from Lush (damn fine stuff).

Too bad qualifying got rained out though. But the trip over was totally worth it - I'd do it again next year... in fact, I'm certain we will.

Basket front:

Basket back:

Third Place - Hey, we'll take it!

A weird Nascar weekend up here...

Stupid TNT showing the stupid race because stupid NBC had coverage of the stupid Olympics... stupid CRTC not allowing Canadians to get stupid TNT on our cable/satellite systems.... stupid TSN having stupid golf on instead of the stupid race. Stupid.

So I followed along with Trackpass: my desktop computer utilizing PitCommand, and my laptop keeping me up to date with the MRN broadcast. Yes, I was the MultiMedia Queen/Loser Resident of a Country That Cares Little for Nascar.

I survived though, only because Mark did well. He - impressively -passed about 8 cars in the last 15 laps. Now he's up to 13th in the points, only 72 out of tenth. If I were a praying person I'd be down on my knees every night, begging the racing gods to please please please let the guy make it into the chase. If anyone out there deserves it, it's Mark. Kasey Khane? Not so much.

So this weekend it's Michigan, and I get to do the Six Pfamily basket for Mark and the Blue Crew. I've spent the weekend working out the logistics of this in my head... how the hell am I going to get all this stuff across the border? This could be the first basket they've received from "the other side" - hopefully all the good stuff won't get confiscated by US Customs, eh? Time for research... Google, guide me!

My Guys & Where they Finished - Watkins' Glen

Mark Martin - 3rd (woot!)

Rusty Wallace - 25th (meh)

Bobby Labonte - 11th

Elliot Sadler - 15th

Matt Kenseth - 9th

Jeff Burton - 12th (yay! Us Roushies will miss you, Jeff!)

Ward Burton - 37th (engine go boom - bummer)
