Funniest thing today
Some 13 year old kid is trying to pass off Cassandra Claire's Very Secret Diaries as her own work on the Pit of Voles.

*gets out the marshmallows and waits for the Kong-sized flames*

The sheer irony of that is absolutely poetic.

That's me. I thought a gentle 'you are an idiot' review might warn her that she's about the be killed and devoured by CC's fanpoodles. If she's got any sense at all she'll delete it and hide before they find out.

Of course... plagiarists rarely have sense.

It's showing a reply, but I can't access it. Is she confirming or being a dodo denying?

I think that's a link for the author to make a reply. I don't really know much about the workings of ff.net, but I haven't heard anything from her.

Huh. Well, we'll see if she gets the hint or not.

Dude. For real.

The chances of getting caught plagiarising online are pretty high. Someone, somewhere is going to notice. Chances that someone is going to say something, if not throw an absolute fit? Pretty high. Juuuust to ensure the biggest splash when plagiarizing, go for the gold! Pick a story everybody everywhere has read or at least heard of (the originality of which is dubious in some circles to begin with) by an author almost everyone in fandom has heard of, an author whose fans are known for thier rabid devotion. Then congratulate yourself for a job well done, because you have been noticed!

The only thing funnier than seeing someone caught under these circumstances will be the chorus of "It's Cassie's, all Cassie's! How dare you steal her precious words!" Which is technically true, but only just. Delicious. *dies*

You know, I'm wondering if she thought she'd get away with it because the VSD (and all other works by Cassie) can't be found on ff.net. If she's that new, she wouldn't know why. *dies laughing again*

You'd think the fact that 90% of the internet has 'pervy _______ fancier' somewhere in their life, icon/bio/teeshirt, would have clued her in. There is just not enough WTF to go around.

And we can't even wank the fallout. Why does she have to be underaged!?!?

...oh boy does that phrase bring back memories.

The funniest thing for me is counting how many different ways to spell 'plagiarist' the commenters come up with.
