I would like to take this chance to point out that I turn off comment notifications on all my posts, and check. Which means that if the warnings were given in one of the deleted posts, I've never read them. The first I've heard of it was the tempban I got yesterday. I've checked my entire Gmail archive, going back two years, and there's no warning. None.

You're the one who brought up the wiki as an excuse to blame someone else for your mistake. No one is telling you to memorize anything.

Look. What you are supposed to do is take responsibility for your actions. This was not intentional, I understand that. But this is the second time you've done this, and you've been warned before. You turn off comments? Fine, that's your choice. But then you can't complain that you didn't know. We don't send emails to people telling them they've been banned. We tell them in the comments. You didn't care to check comments? You don't know.

You didn't know it was SF, we got that that. Other people have made the mistake before too. You don't want to check the comments to your entry, you don't want to check and see if the poster is actually SF, you don't want to do any of that. That's cool, again, your choice.

It's our choice to temp ban you for a week for doing this, after you've been warned for doing it previously. Note: temp ban. We're not banning you forever.

Maybe as a result of this temp ban, you might decide to check your comments more often. You might try to check if the unknown poster is someone we don't wank here on JF (all it took was a couple of clicks to figure it out) before you post. You might decide we're all assholes and you're not going to change the way you do anything. All of that is fine.

We tend to cut people slack when they wank SF or if they wank a minor, because god knows, it's hard to realize those things. But telling us it's our fault for not having a list on the wiki, and then telling us it's our fault that you don't look at the list that's on the wiki, and that it's our fault that you don't check your comments? Not working for you here. At all.

Yes, we originally said a week. Then everyone forgot, and it was the weekend, and oh well, we don't get paid to mod as our full-time jobz, and somehow, you weren't on the top of anyone's personal To-Do List.

And you, instead of, oh, I don't know, taking some responsibility as previously mentioned and emailing us at our very visible and public email address and asking why you weren't unbanned, decided to comment anonymously. That's what happened - you don't get bonus time off, or anything like that.

Give me an excuse, and it will be a permanent ban.
