Entry tags:computers, i'm a grownup now, recipes, rl stuff

I'm a grown-up and I pay for my own groceries, and that means that if I want to mix up a bowl of powdered sugar and peanut butter 'till it's the consistency of mud brick, and then eat it with a spoon, I can, right?

(..hey, there's *no* candy in this house, and my roommates won't let me bake. Except what I just mixed up. Granted I could have walked down the street and bought some candy, but a) broke and b) I went from Cake Wrecks to mazapan the other day, and it that time of month, so I'm allowed to cave to random cravings.)

----

Anyway, if someone was, completely hypothetically, thinking about finally installing an IM program, what program would you hypothetically suggest? Bearing in mind that this hypothetical person last tried to install Trillian, and gave up due to FAIL, and that the last time she bothered with IM, she hypothetically had AIM, ICQ, and Y!M accounts, because this was way back when you needed different accounts and programs and they wouldn't talk to each other.

I also hypothetically use Pidgin when I remember to sign in.

Hypothetically, Pidgin installed remarkably well and some of the hypothetical passwords were even remembered, and hypothetically, my friend may even sign onto it sometimes now, yay.

I feel mazapan is misleading. I think it should have almonds and some different letters in it and then I am disappointed when it does not. O.O
But hey, if peanuts are your thing, go for it!

I also enjoy the kind with almonds and extra letters, but around here, almond paste is *vastly* more expensive than peanut butter. And I'm half-Ohioan, so I was raised on Buckeyes, which according to the family recipe, are basically chocolate-covered balls of the stuff, yay. (I would have just made buckeyes, but there was no chocolate. ):

In Texas, we just call those "chocolate-covered peanut butter balls", and they're a fancy foreign thing you can get in certain Italian restaurants. But ooooh, yummy!

Om nom nom.

I haven't used anything since Trillian. Except for gmail chat, which I disabled because zomg people try to talk to me on it. d-: (Trillain worked pretty well for me back then, though.) Oh, and MS Communicator, but that's just work.

If someone hypothetically made a Special Request To IM Me, I'd probably make them use gmail chat, though.

Pidgin handles Jabber, which is the protocol gchat uses. *buffs nails*
