I got the variant cover. It took me a couple seconds to realize that it was Whitney. I thought the shininess of the face was just a rediculous artistic effect until I noticed the bolts on her forehead. And then I got really excited for a story with Madame Masque, but she wasn't there. I hold out hope that she will appear at some point in the storyline.

I think as far as an issue that doesn't really accomplish anything goes, it was pretty good. It mostly just illustrated the transition from SHIELD to HAMMER for Tony and Maria. I suspect that the meat and bones of the story won't kick into high gear until next issue. But this issue had such dickery from Tony. Love. It.

Is Extremis gone, though? For good? It seemed very very randomly gone. Something about when the Skrulls hacked into his tech, they turned off Extremis, but that just makes zero sense to me.

Tony and Pepper depress the hell out of me sometimes. Just accept his pathetic puppy-dog like love for you and stop being such a frigid bitch, Pepper.

Mighty Avengers #20
I usually wait for the collections for MA, but I bought this one as a single issue because I was mislead by the "Secret Invasion Epilogue" on the cover and thought it was just a one shot. I really liked Hank mourning for Jan and their "If you were ever frozen in ice, I'd wait for you" cuteness. But I'm getting really fucking tired of Tony being blamed for Secret Invasion. If you want to blame him for Civil War, fine, that makes sense, at least. Go ahead and do that. But Secret Invasion? WTF. It's not like you KNOW the Illuminati caused a big mess up there. Maybe, and here's a random thought, I know, maybe its the fucking SKRULLS fault?! Maybe the Skrulls are actually accountible for their own actions!
