Have I mentioned recently that I love Maria Hill?

"If you're really so worried about it, why don't you just blow your brains out? Here," she holds out her gun, "Use mine."

"I'm not going to help Tony Stark kill himself because imaginary boogeymen and coming to steal his thoughts. I appreciate that you've got a long history of enabling the guy, though, so you go right ahead."

"Your door is asking me questions. Erm...It wants to know if I'm sober. It's asking if I'm sure."

She just gets so many great lines. And the Action Chickness of her. Go, Maria. When the guns don't work, beat the snot out of everyone with your bare hands!

I'm finding it difficult to really care about Tony's Kill Self plan because I figure there is no way he's actually going to die. If he does, I'll be real ticked, but I don't think he will. So, there's no real feeling of suspense there. It got Pepper to kiss him, though. (I squee'd, I won't lie.) I look forward to furious backpedaling on her part when the storyline is over and he's fine. XD

Runaways #5

I read it online weeks ago and only bought it so that there won't be a hole in my collection. Two things bug the hell out of me in this run:

1) Nico's language. The way she is always yelling and when she says things like, "Mother of stars," and "That stupid, cretinous, flatulent pig!" Who talks like that!? No one.
2) Chase in general. He's just..really not the same character that he used to be. He used to be the team dumb character, the guy with a looser set of morals that the rest of the team and will do things they won't, and the pilot of the Leap Frog. Now, I realize Victor has taken over piloting duties, but now Chase is becoming the Technicial guy--and that was Victor's role. And so much of Chase's character in the beginning was how he wasn't technicial or a scientist and how it disappointed his parents.

Secret Invasion Requiem

I wanted to see Hank be creepy and take on the mantle of the Wasp. It was mostly reprints of old issues--Jan's debut and the issue where Hank hits her. But I was not disappointed by the creepy factor.

I was SHOCKED that its out already. I was going to just buy the issues because I'm impatient and lo, and behold, there's the trade!

I really enjoyed it. Hacked, sweaty, puking Tony was worth the $29.99 alone. But, I enjoyed the dialouge a lot. It's a shame that Iron Man and Spidey aren't in the same issue more because I love it when they are. Luke Cage's reactions to all the fake Avengers were great. I think they won a little too easily, though. The way the Skrulls retreated when they had no leadership instead of just appointing a new leader was weird. It's just too easy.

Also? Ares and Thor. WIN. Nick Fury? WIN.

I like Bendis. A lot of people don't, I've seen. I do.
