Why do people obsess over the director Roland Joffe so much? Is it just the people I know? Because people are not-infrequently going "OH, and Roland Joffe--" to me (SERIOUSLY, like at least five or six times a year) and then when I look him up, I'm like "This man has directed basically a handful of totally crappy movies and then one that was good."
