I went to Worldcon. Certain things were awesome. Some of them make me reach for a butcher's knife.

It looks like I won't be doing that internship at City Hall. Instead, it looks like I'll be temping until I get a real job/move (see below). I'm currently working at the MassArt/Mass Pharmacy store to assist the sheep-like freshmen find their books and supplies. On Tuesday, I may have an interview with Houghton Mifflin.

Erik's been offered a position down in Baltimore with SAIC, the company he's been interning for. I'm starting to look for jobs down there in the event that he isn't offered a better position in the Boston area.

It's been almost three weeks since my dad got a herniated disc. He's been on narcotics for all but the first day and it looks like he'll be on them for some time. While he's lucid now (he certainly wasn't in the hospital), his brain is somewhat scrambled. No surprise, my mother has been somewhat touchy since then. She's been teaching her normal load in addition to taking care of him, and her sleep ranges from adequate to non-existent. I'm impressed that I haven't heard any screaming matches in that time.

My parents had wanted me to move out and live on my own, but I'll be staying until my dad is well enough to drive himself to work each day.

This is my second day on half a dose of Celexa. I'm experimenting in the hope that my brain might cease being defective in a certain situation. Yesterday I was pretty jittery, but I suspect that was a combination of the weather and screwing up in the lab. I've been somewhat depressive today, but I perked up after taking a long bath.

Last week I did 38 hours at work; today I did 36. I understand that as someone with just a bachelor's I'm not quite as attractive for full-time employment, but I'd really like to stop paying for health insurance out of pocket. My co-worker is going to take a month off starting from late May, so I expect to be hired full-time around then. If I'm not, I'm going to start hinting that I'd prefer to have a full-time position, and that I'm willing to go elsewhere to get it.

I considered posting about my thoughts about the nature of humanity, individuals, my own nature, and my frustration at my inability to make them into a logical whole, but screw that. If people are interested in my ramblings they're always welcome to IM me.

Now I'm off to write my diary entry for my Deadlands character. Unlike what Merc and ellF have said, he is not psychotic. He is merely fucked up for reasons I'm not quite sure of.
