![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) khohen1 has a couple of really good posts here and here on LJ regarding the recent LJ policy changes, fan reaction and a telephone conversation she had with rachel. They add a lot of clarity and sense to the discussion.
For the record, I have no problem with people who are dissatisfied with LJ taking their business elsewhere, or with people backing up their journals or locking content, or with people who questioned LJ on their policies and handling of the situation. It’s the absolute, utterly whacky crazy spamming that happened after the announcement previous to last night’s that was so horribly embarrassing. Fortunately only a small handful of people were doing it, but it amounted to trolling and didn't help fandom one bit, in my opinion.
